An unfortunate choice of words

My boys can blow their own noses but when they're tired and/or whiny, they want help. They've taken a liking to whining loudly at me, "Maaaaaaaaaamaaaaaaaaa, you blow me!" I calmly tell them each and every time that they need to "ask nicely for help with your nose please" but so far, it hasn't stuck.

First of all, let me say that you're lucky they blow their own noses -- mine totally don't. <_<

But I do love their choice of words.

My problem is with the word "cherry." I know it's a totally innocent summer fruit, but Amy is super into cherries right now, and I sort of cringe every time she starts talking about them, fearing she's going to say something about popping one.

My kids "blow their food". (Cause it's too hot!) They don't understand why I giggle a bit harder on hotdog night.

    Oh, I was just thinking...

Does anyone read their kids The Runaway Bunny? Remember, there's the part where the little bunny turns into a boat, and mama bunny turns into the wind to, um, blow him, so he says, "If you become the wind and blow me, I will run away to a circus and fly on a flying trapeze!"

I can never keep a straight face reading that part...

My boys have started telling Daddy and Grandpa, "Your hair is losing." It's not as racy as T&Ts, but just as inappropriate. It's great with the family, but I'm sure someday they are gonna whip it out when come across someone with a dramatic comeover in public.

This morning I was doing a puzzle with Lily and we were looking for one of the pieces. She suddenly announced that "it is in there". I was not looking at her at the time so I asked her where and she answered "it is in my vagina" (while also pointing there). At which point I told her it absolutely was not and she then announced that it was "in mommy's vagina". I am glad that we were the only two home at that point!

Oh yes! We have nonstop "parts" talk these days. During diaper changes, Andrew says, "Andrew is stretching the penis." (And dang, that looks painful!) When they're ready for bed, Ivy often says, "Andrew's penis is in Andrew's sleep sack!"

And EVERYTHING has to have a penis or a vagina, or both. They'll hold up a grape or a piece of crumpled up paper and say, "It has a vagina. It has a penis."

Oh, and nipples. We were out in the yard and a few guys jogged by with their shirts off, and Ivy yelled, "They have NIPPLES!"
