an idea for those of us with hip pain

    I was home sick with the stomach flu and after half a day in bed, my hips hurt as bad as my stomach! So I tried using a boppy. I put a regular pillow under my shoulders/upper torso and then used the boppy under my hips so that my hip is resting in the hole of the bobby, and a pillow to rest one foot on. I rested all day Friday like this and have woken without much if any hip pain 3 night in a row!

    I do something similar...I use my long snoozer pillow in a horseshoe shape on top of my regular pillow to give me a good angle. I also put two small throw pillows at the base of the horseshoe to support my hips and then a full size pillow under my knees. I feel like I'm in a giant baby carseat, but it seems to control my hip and leg pain. I can even roll a bit side to side for a change in position. Because I've had neck problems in the past, I also roll up a handtowel for neck support.

    [SIZE=10pt]Great idea!!! Thanks for the tip! I know how you feel. I just got over the stomach flu, too and I was so tired of laying in bed and unbelievably sore! I will keep this in mind. I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out something that will help with the discomfort and pain. Pillows just don't seem to help.[/SIZE]

    I had horrible hip pain with my first baby and my doc suggested a prenatal yoga class. I worked so well with hip and back pains. I wish I could remember the name of the best position. I remember how to do it, but trying to describe it would be difficult!!!!! The yoga also helped with early labor pains, good strtches and breathing.
