Amoxicillin

    my twins were just put on amoxicillin and i'm wondering if there are any side effects....i.e. bowel movements, etc. please let me know your experiences. thanks!

    Me again! :p

    The one thing I noticed with my two while they were on amoxicillin is that they got diarrhea and a MAJOR diaper rash. I could deal with the diarrhea, but the rash was horrible!!! I also did notice that their poop did not smell, so make sure to check their diaper periodically, because you might not know anything is there. I'm not sure if there are other side effects, mine didn't have any...other then starting to feel better. :)

    We had the same as Liz. I recommend (from our pedi.) yogurt if they don't already get that. It really helped mine out.

    Ditto al lof this as side effects...gotta love antibiotics.

    Same here. We actually went back to the Ped and she checked their ears after 5 days on Amox and said that their ears look great and to stop the Amox since it was wreaking havoc on their systems.

    My girls are allergic to it. So, they had hives and wheezing.

    Just be sure they are eating yogurt with any antibiotic they take. I haven't noticed anything, my two (well all 3) love it.

    We only had a small amt of diarrhea. My guys eat a lot of yogurt, so I guess that helped!

    Bad diaper rash... BUT if the rash spreads, go back to the doc, they could be allergic. My son is.
