I called my OB today because I wasn't feeling better with my cold/sinus infection alredy have no idea what I have,
and after speaking with nurse about what is safe to take ( was told triaminic and NO NO sudafed)
she call me back saying that doctor want me to start taking antibiotics
    he prescribe amoxicillin.
I never took it before I just found that it category B drug.
Does anyone took it and everything was Ok with babies?
    Thank you in advance.

I think you need to trust your ob, they wouldn't prescribe something that wasn't safe.

Category B is as safe as you are going to get, about the only category A drugs are water and prenatal vitamins! :)

I took it when I was pregnant with the twins. I had a sinus infection. Feel better soon.

I took it with my twins and all was fine.

I also just got off it again during this pregnancy for a sinus infection.

Take it, and FEEL BETTER! Sinus infections stink!!

I hope it works for you soon, sinus infections are awful!!

And I didn't mean to sound harsh earlier, I was in a rush :) I just meant that your ob would only prescribe something he/she felt was safe to take and wouldn't risk you or your babies!

I hate sinus infections!! If you do not want to take antibiotics, try using a Neti Pot Sinus Wash Kit - you can get them at any drug store like CVS or Walgreens. I am prone to getting sinus infections and swear by them! It basically cleansout your sinuses/ I think mine cost $12 or $13 and it is totally worth it.

I will admit that it is strange to use - you are basically putting saline water through one nostril and making it drain through your sinus cavities and out your other nostril. It really did the trick for me the other day. I had so many antibiotics a couple weeks ago that didn't want to get anymore. If you are running fever though the antibiotics are not a bad idea since your doctor says its okay.

I took amoxicillian my ENTIRE pregnancy for a medical condition. My girls had no side effects from it and I had no problems....I even took a higher dose when I got a UTI toward the end.

It is VERY well studied and been around along time. Most OB/Drs prescribe it with confidence.

I use it for 3 weeks already and it does help at the begining but now my problem is that nose is stuck I mean the water doesn't go through and it doesn't really rinse anything it just cannot. but I am still doing it. and I agree this is great system but more helpfull when you have running nose then stuffy nose. I'm using pot and bottle rinse. both has own pro and cons.

    Thank you, girls.
I can say that I slept much better I could breath at night and I think that antibiotics start working. I feel a little bit better today but one of the nostril is still stuffy and I have the headache. Hope will be healthy again in a week :)
