Right now the girls are eating between 4-6 ounces of formula every 3-4 hours. They have been on cereal for about 3 weeks, but then we sort of stopped for a week as I wasn't convinced they were ready.

Anyway, I try and keep a daily record of how much they are eating. When giving cereal do I include "extra" formula or am I suppose to add what they would normal take to their cereal?

    Example (before cereal)

    7 am 6 ounces
    10- 5 ounces
    1-5 ounces
    etc.....

    With cereal

7 am 5 ounces of formula (so then the extra ounce is added to their cereal??????)
1 ounce of formula with cereal

Or should I be giving their regular amount PLUS an extra with the cereal.

    Help!

When we started cereal, I just counted the cereal. I stopped keeping a record of what all they ate shortly after they started solids, and they were growing fine, so I'm not much help.

What I have always done is just add some of the milk from the bottle into the cereal. HTH

We didn't do cereal for long, but we would just add some from a bottle of theirs.

I just made a couple extra ounces of formula and counted it as extra. You could probably do it either way, if they are acting like they are hungry you could use extra for the cereal or if they are not taking all the formula you could use what's left over for the cereal.
