I am new to this site so I am trying to figure out how it works! I am 28 weeks and 6 days pregnant with identical twin girls. I went to the doctor last week and Twin B has too much amniotic fluid around her and twin a has a normal amount. he wanted me to come back this week to get it checked again to make sure the fluid has not increased, stayed the same, etc. did anyone or has anyone gone though this with their twins during pregnancy?! what exactly does it mean? He told me a thousand things it could mean but nothing specific!

I don't have any experience with this personally but you are definitely in the right place! I'm sure there are other moms on here who can give you more info but it sounds like your doctor is being very proactive with your care, which is great! Good luck and keep us posted!

Welcome to TS!! I dont have any experience with this either but I am glad your doctor is actively keeping an eye on things! AND I hope the next check will show no increase.
Take care and good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy!

My one twin had too much, and one not enough. They had ttts. The doc said the other has normal fluid?

Sounds like it could be the start of Twin to Twin Trasnfusion. Do your twins have the same placenta? Make sure they keep a close eye on you. Can't wait to read your update!

TTTS is my first thought, too. If it is, the good thing is that your babies are doing well so far, and also that you are at a deliverable gestation. Push for weekly dopplers if you're not already going to get them. We were diagnosed way before viability so we had a very long, excruciating wait.

Let us know how your appt goes on Friday and you and your babies will be in my prayers :)

Thanks for your replys everyone. Yes they said twin A fluid is normal and TWIN b fluid is high. That was last tuesday, I go back friday. But when he was talking to me about what it could be he did mention TTTS but he said he didnt think so because usually with TTTS they have to have different fluid amounts one high one low and different weight amounts? did your doctors tell you this?!? my girls at last appt. were 2.7 and 2.5. and yes they have the same placenta!
this makes me nervous,, should i do or say anything when i go back to doctor if fluid is still not normal and they dont want to see me weekly?!? i was being seen ever 4 weeks at high risk but then after the fluid appt he said he wanted to see me in two, which is friday.
i will keep you all updated, thank you.

My boys did not have a huge weight discrepancy..it was mainly the fluid levels. Weight is not the only factor in TTTS. Even the fluid varied. Sometimes one would have just enough, and then the other would have way too much. I would request weekly ultrasounds because TTTS can develop late in a pregnancy and because it is a serious condition you can never be too careful.

I would still request weekly scans. My girls did have a significant weight discrepancy but it's my understanding that that's not always the case. And, because of the close monitoring, my girls' lives were saved. TTTS is extremely dangerous. I would rather err on the side of caution since you do have a marker than risk the lives of your babies. I hate making you more nervous than you already are but I just want to make you aware. It will be so much better when you can sigh a huge sigh of relief, knowing that you advocated for your children, even if (when) there are no complications.
