I was just wondering if anyone had the aminio to check for lung maturity? I am going on Monday (36 weeks) to see if I can be induced early. Just wondering if anyone had this done and if you went into labor afterwards or did you have to be induced?

I had one done at 36 weeks 5 days and it didn't trigger labor for me. They tried to induce me right at 37 weeks but then I ended up having a c-section a day later as my cervix wouldn't budge after 2 days of induction. If I could go back I would have said to wait until 38 weeks with the hope that my cervix would have been more responsive because I had a rough c-section.

I had one done at 36 weeks 2 days. I asked what was the chance of it coming back not ready and the doctor said he wouldn't even talk about it because it was less than a 2% chance and never happens at that point. Well of course mine came back negative and I had to wait another. I cried so hard on the phone with the doctor becasue I was suffering from puppps. I never thought I would make it another week and was determined to go into labor since I was so uncomfortable. I ended up making it to the next week at my second scheduled c-section. I do not think it affects your chances of going into labor at this point. Good luck, it was such and easy test, I barely felt anthing like an accuptunure needle so thin. Hope your comes back ready as I can imagine how uncomfortable you must be.

I don't know if it was the amnio or not: I was already on hospital bedrest for PROM, but had not gone into premature labor after nearly 13 weeks of PROM, so we felt I was going to go to 36 weeks. Had the amnio at 32 W 4 days to see if lungs were mature so that peri could transfer me back to a hospital closer to home. THe test was good :))), and I went into labor within hours.

I had an amnio at 35 weeks and it did not cause me to go into labor. The test came back positive and my b/g twins were delivered the same day in the evening via c-section due to pregnancy induced hypertension.

I had the amnio done at 36 weeks 1 day and while I did end up having a lot of contractions that night (and going to L&D for it) nothing happened and I was sent home. I'd been to L&D at least 3 times before that though - I just contracted A LOT towards the end of my pregnancy. I made it to my scheduled c-section at 36 weeks 6 days (A was breech and B was transverse).
