No experience, but I think *I* would like to sleep in it! I have seen them at consignment shops, so you might check that out.

the photos look like the baby is still lying flat. that makes me doubt their claims about helping with reflux. then again, my boys can reflux from an upright position so i might be biased!

THere is a thing on the back that you tighten depending upon how elevated you want the child to be.

Looks interesting. I don't know if I would personally spend money on that IMO, as I find different ways of sleeping at an infant age are only temporary.

  6. My sister bought one to use with her daughter who had serious reflux and also has special needs so was quite irritable. She said it was the best money she ever spent and it saved their sanity. Her daughter loved it and slept so well in it, she would take it apart to bring it along for naps when she went to visit our mom for the day! But try to find one used - they are expensive!

I haven't used it but it looks nice! Do you have colicky fussy babies? If not then I would just get a regular swing to save $.

I bought this ... and then sold it!!! It's a waste of money in my opinion. Very expensive. And I found my daughter would slide over to one side of the swing and it would tip ... so she could end up with her face pressed into the side. I was worried about smothering!!!!

It also doesn't swing. It hangs still unless you're there gently pushing it. Not really the point, right?

AND -- it's huge. It takes up so much room.

In my opinion, your money is better spent on one of the electric baby swings. I was given one my girls love. And my sister in law has a really nice one that was about $150... Fisher price.

I would go the electric route if you want a swing. It's the motion that puts them to sleep. And the upright bouncy seats are great if you're got a fussy/colicky baby. And much cheaper at $40-$70.

OH!!!! And.... more griping... the so-called jolly jumper that comes with the amby baby swing is garbage. The spring in it is so big and stiff my daughter could never do more than scramble sideways across the floor at an awkward angle. LOL. Very sad to watch...

I would have had more fun burning the $400 I spent on this thing. At least then I could have roasted a marshmellow. Sugary snack without the aggravation.

It looks like a thing they made a lady sell on "Clean House". This is a show I watch at night before going to bed. DH hates it. But anyway, she never uses it and said that her baby sleeps in the bed with her, but she wanted to move baby to her own bed. As part of redecorating they got a new bed for the baby. But it was a regular crib. It looked like something I would rarely use. I had/have two bassinettes my boys were in for the first couple of months in our room.

I think it depends on the baby. I have 2 of them (one off ebay the other Craigslist) and they are a lifesaver for one of my twins. The other doesn't like the movement when she wiggles.

For DD that likes it she has torticollus and reflux so the incline helped a lot. We would swaddle her and put her in it. You can bounce it gently with hardly any effort thanks to the spring and she'd sleep. If she woke, her movement would make it bounce a little and soothe her. I began to wish there was a mechanism to make it bounce on it's own. But it was better than having to hold her and bounce on the exercise ball. She's 8 mo. now and still sleeps in the Amby. With her increased strength she can really get that thing bouncing on her own and loves it. I'm wondering how I am going to get her transitioned to a regular bed???

It is tricky to get it adjusted right. Like the PP said, if the mattress gets lopsided the baby can roll to the side. One of mine has some velcro on the bottom that holds the mattress in place and that one works a lot better than the other one. Maybe it's newer? I don't know but I love the Amby!
