AMAZED by what they understand

So yesterday we had a big BBQ to celebrate the twins' first birthday and DS1 turning 5. Birthday cakes are a big deal in our family, so I wanted each child to have their own cakes. I made 2 monkey cakes for the twins (our little monkeys...) and DS1 requested a lizard cake. We did the twins first as their bedtime was approaching, and for some reason I felt like I wanted each baby to be sung to separately. So we did DS2... brought him his cake...and everyone sang to him. They were in their highchairs next to each other... and I SWEAR... DS3 knew it was his twin's turn...and then it would be his turn. So while we sang to his brother, he smiled... kinda danced in his chair and just watched his brother. And then when it was his turn, and his cake, and everyone was signing to him...he was so excited and super smiley... his brother did the same... watched him, smiled, waited. JUST FREAKING ADORABLE.

anyway, still can't believe they are 1. We had a ball. I'll see if I can figure out how to post a picture of the cakes...
