My boys are 5 months 2 weeks now, I bf them along with formula. I feed them like 4-5 times a day at 9-10am, 2pm, 5pm, 9pm. I want to start solid in 2 weeks, I checked your schedule in here but I found that at 6 months you give fruits & cereal not just cereal & even more than once. I thought we'd start by just cereal once a day at 2pm meal.
    Am I wrong  ?
    please help

No, you're doing fine. I think the key with solids is to 1) follow your babies' cues and 2) don't be afraid to let them try a food 10 or so times to make sure they really don't like it. Since the solids are mostly for practice at this age, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

We started out with cereal only at 4.5 months for about 2 weeks. Then we moved on to veggies then fruits.

We did the same as Michelle. Really, it's what works for you and your babies. Most everything is just a guideline.

We started off with one meal a day of cereal, and then moved quickly to fruit mixed with cereal. We started solids at 4 months, so we were on 3 meals by 6. Everyone does this differently. I don't think that there is a right or wrong, as long as you have happy babies with full tummies!

    You are fine!
My girls are a little older then yours and we are just doing 1/2 jar in the evening. You could even not do it at all if you dont' feel comfortable yet!

It's all about what works for you and the babies.
We started with rice cereal at just over 6 months, and added fruit after about 10 days.. we've progressed slowly, adding a new fruit or veg every 4 days or so, and we're up to 2 small meals a day now. Breastfeeding is still their primary source of nutrition, but it's fun seeing them get used to new tastes and textures.
We won't add a third meal of solids for another month or so... it's already hard enough to get out of the house without throwing a third meal into the mix!

What our pedi told us was to start cereal at 4 months. But I'm not breastfeeding ... so its fine for you to wait until you are ready. But once we decided to start, she told us to do cereal 1X a day, for 3-4 weeks. It's really just for practice. She told us to do it between bottles. So they always take a 330pm bottle and a 7pm bottle before bed... so we do cereal at 5-530pm. She told us to wait a few days between different cereals... but we did rice cereal for about a week and a half before trying oatmeal. Then she told us after the 3-4 weeks start adding in the fruits and veggies. Again, only add 1 new items every 3-4 days for allergies ... She told us that we shouldn't add a 2nd meal until about 6 months ... again, these are all guidelines ... but you can follow the same type of thing and just start at 6 months ... take your time. Like everyone said, it's really just for learning, not for nutrition.

We started with rice cereal once a day for the first 1-2 weeks, and we are still just doing breakfast (oatmeal, fruit, vegetable) and mine are 7.5 months. You slowly introduce one new thing at a time and feed only that for 2-5 days, depending on how sensitive you think your twins might be, so that you can spot allergies. We have done almost all fruits and vegetables available in baby food jars now with no problems. Just start as slowly as you want, it is just for practice, not for nutrition yet.
