[SIZE=12pt]I haven't even started with potty training the twins. Katie showed some interest when she got her Elmos Potty Time movie in Feb. but it never took off with her. Joshua I am pretty sure will be a no go until closer to 3 as he shows no interest at all.

Katie will sit on the potty but has yet to use it. My oldest was a super pain and was close to 4 when he PT'ed. My 5 yr old I didnt even push it. I put his underwear on a few days before the twins were born and he had accidents all day. When the twins were 3 wks old he told me he wanted to wear them and never looked back. I think he had one accident about a week later and that was it. So he was a breeze to PT.

I just don't like the battle of PT'ing. With my first I kept on and on and it got me nowhere. I'd try here and there and it just seems like it took forever. I would really like to wait until Spring to PT them. They just don't really seem interested at all. It just seems everyone around me is suggesting I go ahead and asking me have we started.

Mine are starting to show some interest. So if they say poo poo or potty, we put them on the potty. Lee will pee quite a bit, and Luke goes a little. My older son has started telling them to come watch him when he is going potty. Then they want to sit on it and try. Yesterday Luke did poo a little. I was holding him on the potty but not looking. He said 'poo poo' and I didn't believe him, but then I looked and he really did! I was shocked! We do take them throughout the day, but I'm not sure if they are completely ready yet. But I guess what I am trying to get at is can you have your older kids show them how to go to the potty? It seems to help when we do that and then get very excited and clap when he is done. Then they want a turn.

We have been potty training on and off. Grace is really interested and doing well but Elizabeth pretty much refused to sit on the potty, so I do not try to force her. I am just following their lead. If they ask for underwear or want the potty, I let them have what they want, but I am not forcing anything. Grace gets a prize when she pees on the potty. Elizabeth really wants a prize too, but still refuses to sit on the potty. We are just trying to be patient.

One of my guys was ready at about 32 months and it took maybe a month to be done even overnite. I did not push it. We jsut wore sweats w/o underwear at home and pull ups out and about. I am NOT one of the people that lock themselves at home for days until it is complete. It would just stress me out and make it worse for them. We went overnight when he told me one night he did not want his diaper. He has not had an accident over nite-so far not one. My other guy was not ready until about a month before his birthday. We would broach the subject but, if he did not want to we did not. It was actually pretty funny when he finally started, his brother would get all excited with him, we all did the hi fives and yeahs. He would get all excited and run to his brother.

I am a firm believer that we can only guide, they will let us know when they are ready to make changes. Most changes I have "decided" on have been struggles. If they instigate the change it goes pretty well.

Good luck, do not let people tell you what you "should" be doing. You know where you kids are at developmentally. I have a friend that made the decision and it took over a year with the process and regressing.

    Good luck
