Am I ready to start potty training? Have I forgotten anything?

Okay, so I have a stack of books from the library about potty training for the boys (fun ones), I have 18 pairs of Diego and Curious George undies, I have a Diego toilet insert, a step stool, 2 Baby Bjorn potties...and a pair of 26-month-old boys. We've been talking about "pee pees" and "poo poos" and about how big boys don't wear diapers ("Diego doesn't wear diapers. He wears undies like daddy and he makes his pee pees and poo poos in the toilet."). Am I ready?! Any tips?

Also, what happens if one gets it and the other doesn't (a distinct possibility)? Just proceed with anyone who is ready?

    Thanks! I'm excited but nervous.

I would say that you have everything you need. I started training my boys at 22 months and but the time they were 2.5 they were finished. I would also recommend those flushable toddler wipes such as kandoo or huggies clean team. They also have store brands that are cheaper, they are so wonderful for #2's lol. One of my boys got it down alot better than the other at first so I just worked really hard with him and his brother started catching on soon after, they were both totally trained at the same time.

Definitely see who is interested in trying it and be super positive. If they don't show a lot of interest, give it a few weeks and try again. Good luck! :good:

I think kids train themselves. And when they're ready, it will take a couple of days - week, factoring in that kids can still have accidents at age 5 or 6. If they show interest, stay positive. No punishment for accidents. Only rewards for making it to the potty.
