The boys are 9 months old (7 months corrected) and I thought we had a pretty good feeding schedule down. But lately they are not eating barely any of their final bottle before bed time. DH thinks that I may be feeding them too much during the day. They don't always gobble it all up, but all in, besides the last feeding they are pretty good eaters. Here is a general idea of what they eat during the day, let me know what you think:
7:30 am 6-8 oz bottle, 2 tbsp cereal, 2 tsp fruit
11:30 am 6-8 oz bottle, 2 tbsp cereal, 2 tsp fruit, 2 tsp veggies
3:30 pm 6-8 oz bottle, 1-2 tsp meat, 2 tsp fruit, 2 tsp veggies
7:30 pm 6-8 oz bottle (we are lucky if they eat half of it)

What do you think? They are still sleeping as normal, but DH is worried because they aren't eating their entire bottle that maybe I should cut back on some of the solids..
Any input would be great! THanks in advance!!

I am by no means an expert or saying that what I am doing is right, but since L&M are about the same age as K&J's adjusted age, I thought I would let you know what we do.

    6:00am 6oz bottle
    9:00 am 6oz bottle
    12:00 noon 1 stage 2jar of fruit each w/ 2tbsp cereal
    1:00pm 6 oz bottle
5:00 pm 1/2 stage 2 jar of vegetable & 1/2 stage 2 jar dessert each
    7:00 pm 6 oz bottle
    repeat...

HTH, but I would LOVE to know what others say.

If it's all staying in, and they are still sleeping well, I would say you are doing a great job! [IMG]

    Hi CDH!!!

I would say that dropping a bottle at this age is normal...by SIL's twin girls are just about one and they dropped to 3 bottles at about 9/10 months.

Perhaps try cutting out the 11:30 bottle first though...instead of 6-8oz....just give them 6oz and more solids. That way they still get a bedtime bottle.

Since mine are only 5 months and just starting solids I can't be of more help than that!

Sounds normal to me. Mine didn't always finish their bedtime bottle, but mostly because they were so exhausted, by the time they did all that sucking it took energy right out of them.

I think that sounds just fine. My girls don't always finish their bedtime bottles. And it is natural for them to start cutting down on the amount of formula they take in as more and more solids are added. My pedi always said that they need a minimum of 16 ounces of formula a day.

Maybe it will make the transition to 3 bottles a day easier on you! We can do 3 most days, but some days they still want that 4th bottle...oy!

My 9 month olds eat more.
At breakfast they each drink about 6 oz, plus 4 tbsps cereal each and 1 tbsp fruit each.
Bottle at 11:30-12:00 - they drink between 4-6 oz
Lunch 1 jar stage 2 veggie each, and fruit - it varies how much fruit my daughter will usually eat a 1/2 jar, but my son will usually eat a whole fruit.
    Bottle at 4:00 - 4-6 oz
Dinner at 5:00 either a stage 2 dinner each and fruit or a veg and fruit
Bedtime bottle - I give them 8 oz. usually they finish it sometimes not.
My ped says feed them till their full - they know when to stop.
My son is in the 45th percentile for wt and my daughter is 90 and they eat nearly the same!

I think it sounds fine. I think as others have said dropping one of the bottles isn't a problem and they're still have 3 other bottles. I would rather get the nutrition of the food into them than milk.
