I have a few appointments and have to leave my LO's with family. They are coming here to watch them, however Im nervous about it. I havent left them alot. I know my dad can handle it.....i guess I get so used to their routine I don't think anyone else can do it, or what if they don't do this or that. I guess I just need to relax and if it gets done it gets done????? LOL

I know, it's hard! But it will feel good and you need to get out for some alone time. Even if it's just an appt. As long as you know the in laws are capable of caring for the LO's, have a good day out! Enjoy.

You'll be fine! Write down any hints or their 'quirks'. My babies have spent time with my Mom and Dad to give me a break (mainly to let me sleep). Babies do great and my parents love the time with them. DH and I have even went out to a few movies!

Heck, my parents took them OVERNIGHT at around 8 wks old so DH and I (mainly me) could get sleep! I had 10 hrs of glorious uninteruppted sleep in my bed with my husband! I definitely missed them, but I felt so rested afterwards.

It is hard trusting other people with them, I agree!

Of course you are not crazy leaving them . You are doing the right thing by leaving them with trusted family members, so you can go to appts. and care for yourself.

You are not crazy but at least it is with family. They probably won't do it the way you do but I bet you that when you come home they will be smily happy babies and you can't put that into a schedule!

I felt exactly the same as you did... until things went awry in my life and I now realize that babies survive and do well with other loving, caring adults to look after them. For the first two weeks I refused to let anyone help me out despite being bedridden and very sick. Then I went into the hospital and didn't come out for six weeks. It was during that phase that my outlook changed. Now I'm back home and looking after my babies by myself, but I now trust others to come give me a break so I can get some sleep. Never in my life did I think I could or would do that, but once you do it and see that you can come home to two happy and content babies you realize that you aren't the only one who can provide them with the care they need. Go out, enjoy yourself, and you will have something to look forward to - coming home to give your babies a hug and a kiss.

It's hard to leave them. My stepfather has watched them 2 days a week since they were 3 months old and it was hard for us to do. I just let him know what he needed to know and they did fine with the change. I think it was harder for me and DH then it was for the babies!

You are leaving them with someone you trust completely. Write down any and all instructions...if you want, have your dad "shadow" you for a period to see exactly what you do so you know he's seen it already (if he already hasn't)..then go! My suggestion...treat yourself to a manicure or massage while you're out...you deserve it! And when you come back, you will be so refreshed and excited to be with babies again:)
