Already dilated

I went to my OB today and she said I'm measuring 45 1/2 weeks, my cervix is soft and I'm already 2 1/2 cm dilated. Baby A is weighing 6 lbs. and Baby B is weighing 5 lbs. 12oz. I'm only 34 weeks 1 days. How long has anyone gone being dilated?

 

I honestly don't know with twins.. but I walked around at 4-5 cm with my 5th baby for 3 weeks. I would assume with twins its a little more of a sign to keep your feet up more.

 

I was 4cm dilated for almost two weeks. I didn't ever go naturally...I was induced!

I think it just depends on the person. I do agree with pp that it is a great excuse to get off your feet a bit more. 34 weeks is just not worth the risk.

 

2 weeks ago I was 3 cm dilated, 80% effaced. My Dr. thought I'd go before now!! But I'm still pregnant! He didn't check me today, but I'm sure I'm probably 3.5 if not 4 cm dilated.

Oh, and I totally did not want to have the girls before 36 weeks, so I stayed off my feet. My Dr. said it probably didn't make a difference, but I think not having the added weight on your cervix does help.

Those are GREAT weights by the way!
