I currently have an almost 5 yr old daughter named Sya (pronounced Mya but with an S). She came up with the idea to name her new twin sisters (due in February) Kya and Mya. I'm kind of torn. It's slightly cute and I like it that Sya picked them, but I'm afraid it may be "too cute" and get old and/or confusing after a while. Also, I'm stuck on who would get which middle name: Kya Elizabeth and Mya Isabella or switch them? Any thoughts, suggestions, advice is welcome - even if you think it's a big no-no for rhyming names.

IMHO.. I'd make Kya and Mya the girls' middle names and make Elizabeth and Isabella their first names. I say this cause I belive in giving them their individuality. Not saying that naming them alike will strip it away, I just think naming them as you would single child would be the best route. Although, some people think it's cute [and sometimes it really is!], but what if they really grow to hate having all that TWIN attention and to top it all off have similar names?

Also, maybe I'm just taking a more negative approach on it. It may really not be a bad idea ^_^ it's just my take on things. My girls' names are both flower names and their middle names have 3 letters. So in a way I've linked them together, just not had them rhyme.

Let's see what other people say

I agree with pp, use as middle names

I also like the idea of using the rhyming names as their middle names rather than first.

I remember growing up with twins Jason and Jessy. They hated it. They always struggled with creating an identity from eachother and their name was something they always complained about. I know as an excited soon to be twin mom I kinda want matching names too but I always remember them. I like the other idea of switching the middle and first name. Still matches and still really cute.

But I do like those names!

I have to admit, if I heard 3 rhyming names IRL I would cringe. I like the idea of middle names as well.

I think it would be way too cutesy to have all three girls with rhyming names.

I like the idea of those names as MNs, just not sure they work as well with elizabeth & isabella as the fn instead. Also, just had another thought...but aren't elizabeth and isabella just different versions of the same name?

I like the middle name suggestion, too. I think it might be too cutesy - especially as they get older.

I agree---DONT RHYME THEM!!! Its gonna be hard enough to try and not call them by each others named, but if you rhyme them all youll get so tongue twisted youll smack yourself in the famce when trying to call for them!!!!!
