All Day Nausea...Yuck!

Discussion in 'Pregnancy Help' started by myangeland6blessings, Jan 21, 2009.

Hi Ladies! I am 5 weeks pregnant with baby #8. Others are 16 months, 3 year twins, and 9 - 18 years old from there. All of a sudden, in the last couple of days, nausea has kicked in FULL force! Before, it was there but could be suppressed with food. Now, I am having a hard time getting food in, and once in, it doesn't help much! I wasn't even this *icky* with the twins :(
My lower belly just feels so heavy and icky (almost like a continuos cramp). I am really struggling to keep up with the littles 3 and under, along with the house. It is almost 11 a.m. and I am still in my jammies and robe (and so are the littles!). Anyone having the same issues? Anyone with any advice to help me get through the day and night until this passes?

    Thanks in advance!!

Hi! I'm so sorry about the all-day sickness. That happened with my current pregnancy baby #7 from weeks 6-14. I actually had to go on medication which I have never had to do...not even with my twin pregnancy. I live in Canada and the Drs. prescribe Diclectin. There was actually a recent post http://www.twinstuff.com/forum/index.php?s...0&hl=unisom about unisom and B6 which has the same ingredients as Diclectin just different amounts. I have no other helpful suggestions. Food didn't help me this time either.
Let us know if you find something that works. And CONGRATS on your current pregnancy! Do you know if it's just one baby causing all this sickness?

  2. Thank you so much for the link. I should have looked before I posted, but didn't even think of it! There seems to be a lot of good advice on that post. I don't know yet whether this is one baby or two babies causing all of the havoc. My 1st appt. is Feb. 2 with a nurse and we will schedule my 12 week that day. I've had a single pregnancy after my twins, so I guess it could go either way. I feel silly asking about nausea, after having 7 babies you would think I would know what to do about it! But, I have never felt so yucky with any of my other pregnancies. Go figure! Maybe it is an age thing, I don't know (I'll be 39 in April)! Well, anyway Thank you so much for your help!

Can some of your older kids help get things going with the little ones, before & after school or something? Anything to give you a break will help. My oldest are 10 & 8 and we do homeschool, so they're here. When I was the sickest, they were fabulous at helping get food and clothes for my girlies and keeping them entertained. That didn't make me less sick, but meant I didn't have to worry so much about that when I couldn't think of much of anything besides bending over the toilet.

Have you tried Unisom & B6 vitamins together? If you do, take just 1/2 a Unisom, because it's a sleep aid. But those together help a lot of people. If you're so sick that you can't even function, I wouldn't wait for Feb, call and see if you can get in to see about meds for nausea.

I also had all-day sickness with this pregnancy from weeks 6-16. I thought it would never end! I've never experienced anything like that before with my other pregnancies. I was so desperate the doctor finally gave me a prescription for some medicine that treats indigestion, and it made me break out in a horrible rash, which was just what I needed :) I was never able to find anything that really helped, but when it was gone it didn't come back, thank goodness! I've attributed it to age...I am 39 too :)
