Finally getting a chance to get online!

I was supposed to go in and get induced at 6am on Friday 1/26/07, well friday morning at 5am, the hospital calls and tells me that they had 3 women go into labor overnight so they had to push my induction a few hours. Finally called and was told to come in around 10am - got there about 10:40 did ppwrk, checked me in and was brought into the room. Then I was told to hang out because we were just waiting for this one woman to deliver then they can start me on pitocin.

Well 4+ hours later, this lady is still pushing! My nurses were so nice and extremely apologetic, and my OB was in the room several times checking to make sure I was ok. We were all laughing about how I might have these girls before this woman gives birth! After my OB went to check on how things were progressing and to find out when I can actualy get induced, she came in real upset with the staff because I was told I can either go home and come back in the morning or wait in the room because they did not want to risk putting me on pitocin and not have enough nurses/staff. She said "let's check you first before we decide anything" so after checking and finding out I was already 4cm dialated, she told them "get this girl some pitocin because she ain't going anywhere - these girls are coming out tonight!". At around 5:30, they started my pitocin and gave me an epidural about 45mins later. By 8pm, I was fully dialated, they started to get everything ready. Things just started happening so fast it was so unreal!

I was wheeled into the OR @ 8:45pm, had 7 nurses there, my OB, another OB from her office and the anesthesiologist. Started pushing at exactly 9pm, still cracking jokes in between pushes about anything and everything then Alex came out screaming at 9:18. Gabby then decided to move around and get comfortable - breech comfortable!!! As they were checking Alex, my OB all of a sudden got this serious look on her face, that meant uh-oh, VAGOMINAL delivery - AHHHH!!! She worked her way around in there and asked me to push once and pulled Gabby out by her feet. That little bugger was out at 9:29. All in all, my entire labor process was 4hours long so I guess I can't complain. Not really a whole lot of pain, the nurses kept calling me wonder woman because I didn't ask for any pain medication afterwards. Guess I have a high tolerance for pain, that or I was in euphoric heaven with the girls sleeping in my arms [IMG]

Apgars were 9/9 and we all came home Sunday afternoon and have had sleepless nights but other than that everything is good. They are so adorable and just so beautiful. Yes I know it's super vain to gloat but I'm so glad to finally meet my beautiful twin girls [IMG]~

Samantha is such a doll and has been very helpful, every morning she goes into their room and if she doesn't see one of them , she asks "where is my other sister?".

Michael has been amazing. I must have done some good in another lifetime to be blessed with such a patient and loving husband.
