of course Ill have something under his feet to hes not hanging but Im wondering if its ok to go ahead and put him in them now for a bit to get him off his head? He HATES tummy time and will ony stay there for a min at the most. He sits well in the bumbo but likes to lean forward and Im afraid hes going to fall on his head.

Mine were about 3 months. They had great head control so I gave it a try with blankets around them since they were a little small for the seats. They LOVED it! We were careful to watch them for signs they were getting tired though and took them out when they started slowing down.

I asked my pedi about this at my boys' 4-month appt on Monday and she said they are just now on the cusp of being old enough for those. It might not hurt to wait another week or two.

I put mine in jumperoo around 4 months. They were still a little small for them, they didnt really get into it until 5-6 months. My DS didnt like tummy time either. I would put him on his boppy and he liked that. Eventually he started to like it, I just kept putting him on it every time he was up for a little bit at a time.

Our physical therapist told me that babies need to develop their upper body before going into something like that, because that develops their lower body. It's important for their brain development to work from the top down, basically. Neck, then arms, back, abs, and finally legs. She said they really need to be rolling and sitting before they can go in a jumperoo, exersaucer, or walker.

You should do some research - I don't think exersaucers are goods for babys ever. Something about muscle development and leg stance - I am sure it has a lot to do with how long you leave them in it though.

I'm pretty sure it was 4-5 months before we used them. I'd try working more on tummy time. I know that is difficult!

Around 4 months old, B would go in for short spans, like maybe 2-5 minutes (with blankets around). Now she will sit in the exersaucer or jumperoo for maybe 10 minutes at a time, twice a day.

Yeah, my friend's PT said they are fine for 15-20 minutes at a time but not longer b/c of hip development.

We did it about the end of the 4th month and used pillows around them to keep them secure. They would only stay in there about 5-10 minutes at a time, but it was a great new diversion.

We started with these around 3.5 months. :good: Of course I had to put a blanket behind them, but they enjoyed it. Good luck!!

Around 3 months for the exersaucer, and 4.5 months for the jumper.

Our PT and Parents as Teachers person said to make sure their feet can touch flat on the excersaucer floor before use because of shortening the achilles tendon if not able to touch.

Mine are just getting the hang of those and are a little over 6 months. Mine did pretty good with a bumbo seat before they were ready for the exersaucer and jumper. As long as they had something in front of them to look at. Mine hated tummy time too, so I tried anything I could!

it's best if they have good head control. my girls can sit in the jumperoo just fine because they have good head control. we usually put a small pillow underneath because their feet don't quite reach the floor. we usually give them 10 minutes once a day and they love it! work on tummy time though, start with one minute then work your way up. they will eventually not mind it as much. my girls hated it a month ago but now they will do it for a while with their boppys.

We bought my dd an exersaucer when she was right at 3 months old (well santa brought it), and with the help of pillows she enjoyed sitting in it for a few mins here and there. It doesn't hurt to see how they do! They may or may not enjoy it yet! :)

We started with the jumperoos at around 4.5 months, but they didn't start to really love them until closer to 6.

We bought a jumperoo at 4 months and they seemed to like it but didnt really get the hang of it until 5 months. I would say 3 months is fine as long as he is happy in it.

Ours were 3 1/2 months old and we used a box under them with an upside down bathmat so their feet would not slide on the boxes. they really enjoyed ours. We still use them noe

I put my boys in there at 3 months and they loved it, they also had very strong neck muscles and head control.
