The boys will be roughly 15 months by the time summer begins. Neither of them are walking yet, so I was wondering what age appropriate outside toys I should purchase? I have a slide, but realistically their not ready for that. I wanted to get a sandbox, but I still thing their too young because they'll probably end up trying to eat the sand! So, I'm kind of drawing a blank  I live in a townhouse but we do have a decent sized patio. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Oooh, I think a sandbox is a great toy at that age. They just sit and touch it, put it in buckets, etc. You teach them not to eat it and then you have all summer to play. Same with sidewalk chalk. And bubbles. Teach them not to eat it and you can enjoy it all summer long.

Mine also liked the bikes without peddles. So fun! And we have a little trampoline that has a bar to hold onto. It has always been one of the best toys. And lots of balls to throw and chase. And one of those lawn mower bubble pushers. So fun! Mine had a couple fancy water toys, but they were not worth the energy it took to set up. A little swimming pool was always a life saver.

My boys are 15 months now. We don't have much here, but at daycare they love the Cozy Coupe cars, the cube climber thing with a slide, and the ride on cars, trucks, etc. Here at home we love the wagon for walks to the park.

Mine like buckets and shovels (we have a bunch of rocks in our backyard that seem to provide hours of entertainment!), they also like the cozy coupe car, and ride on toys (without peddles), and their favorite in the world is the swings we just bought them! The LOVE to swing!

I would do a sand box! I thought the same thing we got ours when the twins were 13 months and they loved it! I was scared about sand eating but, they never tried it :)
Also maybe a small blow up ball bit they would enjoy too!

    Good Luck

We got the girls a little kitchen set, and also this little tykes plastic thing - it's a slide but it also has little cubbies at the bottom that they can crawl in and on the top there is a steering wheel. My girls aren't big enough to climb up to the 2nd story but they will crawl in the bottom part and play peek-a-boo.

i would go for a turtle sand box filled with ball pit balls, this sand box is short sided enought for crawlers to get in and out of on there own. there is a lid to keep the balls clean and dry if keeping it out side (ours was on our deck till late fall than came inside for the winter) and the balls are so much fun for them, very colorful and no worring about them eating sand) here is a picture of mine.

also the little push/ride on cars, mine could walk with those before they could walk alone and they LOVED the freedom, works well on grass as it wont go as fast. (you can see them in the back ground of the picture also)

Play house our loved going in and out of the door

Water table mine loved, they could stand and hold on to the side of the table and splash in the water.

this is retired but you can find them on ebay and craigslist/tagsales the little tikes garden, this is so much fun
has a gate to open, crawl thru tunnel, spinning birds, door bell, squeeking bird and lots more.

    Have FUN!!!

Water table! They can pull up on it....and nothing is more fun than splashing around and making a mess with water. :)

I totally agree with the sandbox, ball pit, water table and push toys. We have all of those and they get hours and hours of use!!

Little plastic trikes without peddles, cozy coup cars, little pool to splash in, play cube with slide (they might not play with it until the end of the summer), wagon, push toys... thats all I can think of right now.

Mine love anything they can push right now. Even their big wagon!
But we have a big yard, so their favorite thing to do right now is just run around.
