    HI all
I LOVE mornings with my boys - they are so pleased to see us and there are lots of smiles and chats...
During the day we feed heaps, we go for a walk, I read to them, sing, chat, play with toys for their age and visit people sometimes and by the arfternoon I am out of ideas... between 2 and 6 I am sooooo bored!!! I think the boys also are as bored with Oprah and Dr Phil as I am....
I am far away from my family so dont have much human interaction.. anyone else in the same boat and what do you do to keep your brain going?

    cheers

I used to go to the mall, Wal-Mart, Target, somewhere, every day in the morning or afternoon. The drawback is that the girls got used to nappng in the car. The plus side was that I kept my sanity. ;)

I save my walk for between 4 and 5 when the boys are fussiest and more neighbors are out walking. I also make a mini grocery run every other day before their afternoon nap. HTH!

I'm a working mom, but on Mondays and Fridays I work half days so I have the afternoon with the girls. I usually run my errands after their 4pm bottle- so between 4:30 and 6:30 we are out and about (home depot, target, grocery store, etc). They love to get out and flirt with people and I get errands done.

On the weekends if I don't feel like going out, I'll strap them into their highchairs in the kitchen with some toys and/or a snack (sometimes just a sippy) and give them a cooking lesson! I make dinner and they seem entertained by my Julie Childs impression.

Or we bust out the music and dance around! That always invigorates me... and I put on music I like (consequently the girls now like the cure, smashing pumpkins, led zeppelin, the kinks, and cake!).

We went out a lot too, to stores and what not. I even went to the library a few times.

That's my errand running time as well. They usually get up from their naps about 2/2:30, we do a 2:30 or 3:00 bottle and then head out. Usually by 4 they are catnapping in their stroller, oftentimes I will just walk around a store or the mall to let them sleep a bit (thank God for Starbucks). Then we head home, do dinner around 5, play a bit, bottles and bed.

I'm with all the pps - try and get out in the afternoon, even if you just drive around. The walls of my house were closing in on me, so I really tried to find something to do outside the house everyday. I may have also let them watch the Baby Einstein DVDs (the ones appropriate for their age) in their bouncers. They are only 30 minutes or so, but they really seemed to like them. If they like being on their tummy, try putting them in front of a mirror.

BTW - your thread title has made me laugh every time I've seen it - I keep thinking it says Afternoon Boredom...bedroom buster suggestions. :D
