What are somethings that I will need to have after I leave the hospital, so I will be ready for my long up hill struggle. Any and all suggestions and ideas are very appreciated. Thank you ladies!!!

If they dont give you one, my hospital did, a small pillow to cushion your incision site for a few days when you get up and sit down. That was a big help. So was the tylenol. I had the pain scripts but they made me sleepy so I didnt take them unless hubby was home. I also had a basket with everything I needed for the babies an a few snacks for me right in front of the couch so I wouldnt have to move around so much. It had diapers, wipes, outfits, burp cloths, the nasal asperator and a few other things. Good luck! :hug99:

The one thing I had that, for me, was a life saver was this "girdle like" thing they gave me. I'm not sure of the name but it helped me a ton. With that on I was able to move around more and it supported me and helped me strengthen my muscles. :good: I'm not sure if every hospital gives it to their patients, but you could ask. Also, take your pain meds on time. I didn't take the strong meds that they gave me, but I was on Motrin around the clock. I believe that helped. I tried to take it easy as much as possible...like avoiding the steps in my house for a few days. Good luck to you Momma!! :)

ITA with the pain meds, Stay on them. What I actually did- I was told to take 2 every 4 hours instead I would take 1 every 2 hours. Its seemed to help a lot. I wan't over loopy or over tired from the medicine, and I never had a gap that I was waiting for medicine to kick in.

I also had to go out and buy bikini underwear as I was accostumed to wearing thongs (sorry if TMI) and those are not pad friendly. You may want to get some pads as well while you are at it. HTH! GL

I spent a lot of my time in the recliner when I came home. It was easier to get out of than bed. Yoga pants were wonderful! They didn't rub on the incision or put too much pressure on it. I second taking the pain meds before you feel like you need them. Several times I waited too long and regretted it.
