So we had their first vaccinations today. (Don't ask, I was a nervous wreck, especially when they started screaming...)My question is, what could I expect now in the next few days, for how long, and what to do about it? I bought Tylenol in case I'd need it. I just dont' know what to do when and where and why.

Are there any of you who's babies were ok afterwards, not cranky at all?

I always give my girls Tylenol about an hr before their shots, and every 4 hrs for the next 12hrs. It seems to work because they aren't cranky at all. Good luck, it does get better. Here is a hug I'm sure you need it [IMG]

I always gave Tylenol after the shots. My ped takes their temps at the visit, and I don't want to mask a possible temp.

You give tylenol even without fever? Should I just give it if he's so cranky and crying (like he is now?) How much, and how often? Should I take the temperature?....

I would just call the ped--they can give you their recommended directions. I think I only gave one dose, and that was it--mostly to ease the discomfort of the shot. Low grade fever isn't a problem, but if they spike a fever over 100, call the ped right away.

Our ped suggested tylenol every 4 hours till they go to bed. I think that after their 2 month shots Emma had a dose the next day.

Our girls were great after their shots...no crankyness at all. The next day they were a tiny tiny bit cranky but nothing out of the norm, I think that their legs were just a bit sore.

My girls were always cranky after their shots. I always give tylenol before the shots, and then, every 4-6 hrs. for the first 12-18 hrs. The tylenol really helped them, and they even slept well!

Upto 4 months, I gave 0.4 ml of tylenol. (that's the first line on the dropper)

Hope they feel better real soon!
