Afraid to post this, but I am thrilled

AFter 2 years and 3 months, the boys are FINALLY napping. They have cat nappers their whole life, their normal naps were 20-40 min, never more. It has been so difficult, but nothing I did made any difference.

Then about a month ago, it just clicked and the boys started napping. They now take an 1.5 hour nap EVERY day, sometimes even 2 hours. I have been afraid to say anything for fear it would change, but it's been going on a month now (so I think I am in the clear). I can not tell you how happy I am to finally have a break and have toddlers that are so much happier since they aren't exhausted all the time. I didn't change anything or do anything different, they just finally got it. I am so lucky to have children that nap!!!!!!!!!!!

 

That's great Amy! I'm THRILLED for you! I can't imagine how exhausted you were. We've gone through periods of no napping and it was horrible. This week looks like it's going to be one of them I hope it lasts a LONG LONG time now for you!

 

WONDERFUL!!!!! I know that feeling- the feeling of frustration when they don't nap for weeks or months ( or years!) and the feeling of pure joy when they do! I experienced the joy yesterday and it was wonderful.

That is absolutely wonderful! Not napping can be so stressful. I'm glad that they are finally giving you a bit of a break.

I can really relate to you excitement...my girls didn't take good naps unitl they were two and a half. Isn't it great to get a break? What are you doing with all fo your "free time"?

Congratulations! I'm jealous! Mine just turned 2 and one has stopped napping and I'm loosing my patience!

Thanks for the support! I didn't know anyone else on this board had kids that didn't nap basically at all till they were older. I am thrilled! My "free time" is now actually spent cleaning, cooking, and getting a few things done! I even take a nap myself now and then!

 

Yeah for napping toddlers!!!

BTW, I love the names of your twins. We were debating between Noah and Joshua, and Noah won out. But, Joshua was a close second.

Thanks!! LOL, we picked the name Noah first and then Joshua second. I also like the name Hannah!
