    Hello Ladies
I am so glad that i found this website. This is my first post and I hope that i dont overwhelm u all with questions. I saw my ob/gyn about 1 wk ago and everything is great!! I am 32 weeks and measuring 37 1/2 weeks. The babies are doing great and both are head down. I have had a pretty uneventful pregnancy and my dr says that this is the easiest twin pregnancy that he has ever had. I would be excited lol but i am so tired of being pregnant and I just wanna see my little boy & girl. I have loved my pregnancy so far and have gained 0 pounds so far lol (lucky me). I am just ready to set eyes on my babies. I really want a vaginal delivery (my first child was vaginal and i loved it!) but he is seriously discouraging me from it. He says that a c-section would be faster and easier and not have as many risks. What do u ladies think? I dont wanna put my babies nor myself at risk but the thought of being cut open freaks me out.

Congrats! I am glad you found this site! I had csection that was advised by my dr. I did not mind the recovery although I have nothing to compare it to!

You havent gained any weight?? I think I must be missing something LOL...common for me! Glad to hear things are going so well. I too hoped for a vaginal delivery but my babies didnt agree. I didnt like my csection at all (not to discourage you) and NOBODY told me what they were really like, so I try to be honest with others now. They suck and the recovery sucked, but like a past poster said, the recovery was about 10 days and didnt seem so bad at the time, BUT looking back I wonder how I survived. I mean there could be worse things in the world I suppose but I also delivered one vaginally before my twins and I would have liked it that way much better. My advice is take ALL the pain meds prescribed to you afterwards and dont go cold turkey off of them EVEN IF YOU ARE NURSING!! Anyway I will always be here to answer any and all questions that I can... along with the rest of the AWESOME ladies (and gents LOL) here at TS....

    WELCOME!

All docs are different and I guess some are not comfortable with a vag delivery with twins because why wouldn't he encourage vaginal if they are both head down?? My boys were both head down for awhile and the day before I delivered...when my water broke Baby B went transverse but my doc still encouraged me to go vag delivery since B would be easy to turn if needed once A was delivered. C-section to me is only used when medically necessary or now a days if requested. Mine were 7lb 39 weekers.

I had a c-section with my twins only because I has a previous one with my oldest dd. The hospital I delivered at did not do vbacs. Otherwise my doctor would have let me try. They were both head down and ready. Good luck and welcome. congrats on your boy and girl.

I too wanted a vbac after my first one was so easy, my doctor was the only one in the practice who would try it. Baby A was head done B was transverse. All went well and I was happy I did it. I will tell you what my doctor said go with what your heart says and stick with it if your doctor if comfortable doing it!!! Everyone was trying to convince me to just go with the c section but I stuck to my guns.(family and nurses).
    Good luck!

that is true i havent gained any weight. I just reached my pre-pregnancy weight at my visit before the last one and it kinda just stopped there. i lost about 15 pounds when i first got pregnant due to morning sickness for 10 weeks. I have just started actually gaining it back so to date i am at my pre-pregnancy weight. I am not a small woman and with my first daughter i was smaller than what i am now and i lost 40 pounds that pregnancy. My dr always tells me when i wanna go on a diet i just get pregnant lol.

If everything is as it is right now, if you want a vag delivery I say try for it. C-sections aren't horrible but they are no joke either! Mine were both head down and I attempted a vag delivery but just would not dialate but I am glad I at least tried. The best advice I can give you is just go with the flow. Ultimately when you are holding both little babies you won't care how they got here. Good luck and congratulations on your twins.

Both my babies were head down and my doctor gave me a choice - I decided to deliver vaginally. It was tough, but the recovery was fairly easy. Just some soreness and a few stitches. They did have to use the vacuum on both, though. My uterus was so stretched, it wasn't giving much help to push the babies out. I pushed for a while, then we decided that I needed some help to get them out before I became too exhausted.

Good luck to you and congrats on such a healthy pregnancy and twins.

I would absolutely recommend going vaginally if both babies are in good position. My baby A was head down and Baby B was tranverse and was externally turned by the dr. durign delivery.

    Good Luck!

I don't agree with your doctor. My doctor advised me to go vaginally even tho I was thinking with twins it wasn't a good idea. I was nervous for them. But she told me the best and safest way for the babies is to do it vaginally (really??). As long as both heads are down you should go for it. I was so glad I did it and didn't have any problems. And look how big mine were!!!!...lol

That's what we ended up doing, honestly, it was easier than I thought it would be (gotta love the epidural) and I would opt for a vaginal delivery again in the future. Good luck, and welcome!!

I agree with you! I thought the recovery was tough for a c-section and it took me a long time to feel better again-my babies were head down and I tried for a vaginal delivery but my body wouldn't cooperate and I wasn't dilating past 4 cm-my dr said it was b/c my uterus was so extended-I made it to 36 weeks-I went into labor and over 12 hours later I had a c-section-People made it seem like no big deal to me also...it was a good 2 weeks before I started to feel normal...But my babies came out healthy and beautiful, so I guess it was all worth it! I still wish I could have delivered them vaginally-the recovery seems to be so much quicker and with 2 babies it was so hard to rest and no move around so much...
You need to do what you think is best for you and the babies...I wish I knew in advance b/c I would have bypassed labor and gone straight into the c-section-maybe I would have felt differently then.
    Good luck!

I would try it. Drs just like to worry. Because of the cord around my DD neck I had to have a c-section but I would still try.
