Ok so my mil is planning an surprise 60th bday party for my fil at their house July 17th!
I hate traveling.....do not want to mess up my pressure schedule.....
    advice on what to bring?
their house is NOT babyproof at ALL!!!!!!! and since it's a surprise, doing so is not going to happen.
Their house echoes.....will the kids nap differently? cry at naptime a lot?

    How far are you going?
One of the things I would suggest to bring or see if your MIL has is a fan, that will help cut down the noise they hear while trying to sleep. If she doesn't have one, then bring whatever you use at home to do so. I'd bring their bedtime/naptime loveys and whatever you use for bedtime and naptime routines. Try keep to their schedule if you possibly can, I know that is hard to do when on vacation. When we went away, we tried to stay to the schedule but if we didn't, they seemed to adjust.

Ditto to itsnancycozzi. We always take lovies, fan and 2 pack n' plays for them to sleep in. We also try to stick to their schedule as best as possible. Take a baby gate with you if there is even one room in the house that might be semi baby proof or easy to somewhat baby proof when you get there.

    Thanks ladies that helps.
Do you take travel high chairs?
What about those mats that go under high chairs?
DO you bring your own food?
What kinds of toys do you bring? Mine are used to a full playroom downstairs...
I imagine if it is nice it won't matter, we can go outside or to their pool or something...

We traveled last Christmas and will have to travel again this year (ugh).

I hope you're not planning to relax! We had no break whatsoever last time we went, we had to keep an eye on them at all times, and they were not even as curious and fast as they are now...

For the schedule, I'd definitely stick to it. We have Pea Pods instead of pack'n plays and they worked fine, we just had their aquarium toy that makes music and their sleep sacks and they didn't have too many issues falling asleep.

We bought some booster chairs and they worked great, we've used them quite a few times since. I would probably buy lots of snacks in case they don't like the food over there... depending on where it is it might not be handy to bring your own stuff.

I'd some small toys that are easy to carry, but they'll probably be very busy exploring... you'll just have to keep an eye on them all the time, and if possible, to just get out of the house for breaks occasionally.

Do you take travel high chairs? We have portable feeding seats and I would take them
What about those mats that go under high chairs? When we travelled, we did not bring one with us but a plastic tablecloth might be easy to fold up and pack.
DO you bring your own food? We brought some food and they ate food at my aunt and uncle's house
What kinds of toys do you bring? Stuffed animals, books, small items that were easy to pack in the car and did not take up a lot of space
I imagine if it is nice it won't matter, we can go outside or to their pool or something...

You can do this! We took our girls to my husband's grandfather's 90th birthday celebration last summer. It was a 13 hour drive, and we stayed with them for four days. My husband's grandmother is an artist and has paint and paint thinner and brushes and beautiful paintings that could easily be hurt all over the place. His grandfather is a gun collector... and there's no lock on the gun cabinet! So it was pretty much the least baby proofed house I've ever seen. We spent a lot of time running after the girls, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. All of the new faces and "toys" (a different couch, new remote controls, a different backyard) were exciting enough to keep my girls entertained so they didn't try to rip paintings or drink paint thinner like I had feared.

I agree with everyone else to bring the minimum of stuff, just enough to make the sleeping and eating experience like home so your twins will be comfortable. We stuck to our schedule and the girls napped and slept great because they were so tired from all of the excitement.

Do you take travel high chairs? [/b]No...we just make do without.
What about those mats that go under high chairs? No, but I don't use those at home either.
DO you bring your own food? Yes, a little bit. Stuff that is easy to take (Applesauce, crackers, Fruit and Cereal Bars, etc....)
What kinds of toys do you bring? I just pack a small basket of toys...small books, cars, they each have phones, blocks, etc......
