Advent Calendars

Okay... the mommies on this board tend to know about all the good stuff. So! Does anyone have an advent calendar that they love? Do you have one for the family or one for each kid?

I know it seems early but I figure I need to get my act together so I can get it here in time for the countdown.

 

My mom got us THIS one last year. It's more than I would personally spend on something like this, but it sure is cute!

 

I wish I knew where my SIL got the advent calender for the kids at, but it's felt with stars on it and it has a wooden star with a string that the kids can put in for each day that passes by.

 

I made one, out of craft foam. Made a Christmas tree shape, then cut small slits in random places. Made tree decorations (stars, candy canes, gingerbread men), attached paper clips to them, and we hang a tree decoration in each slot every day, until the last night, which is the big star on the top of the tree. My kids love it

 

Our's really isn't an advent calendar, as we are not Catholic. But my Aunt made us a Christmas countdown calendar to use with scriptures on laminated cards and a pocket to put something special for everyday.
