Do you fellow 36 week-ers adjust your babies age? My boys were born 36w 4 d and my Dr does even though they are BIG guys… and develop like they are 2 + month olds, not one month old… just curious what you all do

Mine were born at 37 and 4, only a week later than yours, and my ped does not adjust. And their development is on track w/ 3 monthers.

Ours are 36 w 4 d too. We never adjusted for that. They have always been on track or ahead so we and our doc never give it much thought!

We never adjusted (36 and 1 day) They are on target if not a little ahead for full term.

We aren't sure if mine were 36 weekers or 37 weekers (they were assessed separately as one went straight to the NICU). The one that did not go to the NICU was assessed as 36 weeks, other baby as 37 weeks. Anyhow, our pedi has never adjusted. My family doctor who also charts them at vaccinations did adjust for the first year, but doesn't adjust any more. They have been right on track with milestones.

Mine were born on exactly 36 weeks, no NICU time or any problems at all.
My doctor adjusts their ages when it comes to measurements but that is it. I always try to keep in the back of my mind that they could be up to 4 weeks behind on milestones so I dont freak myself out too much. It is just something to think about if they seem a bit behind, no big deal.

I didn't necessarily adjust, but did keep it in mind if we were not yet hitting milestones. Sounds like they are doing great!!

I have 35 weekers and we don't adjust. Our little girl is about 3 weeks behind her brother when it comes to certain milestones. I just keep that in mind when he does something new.

Mine are 36 weeks exactly. Like PP I do keep it in mind when they don't hit milestones and I start obsessing, like when one of them didn't smile consistently until 12 weeks...the adjusted age thought kept me from going insane.

Mine are right at 36 weeks as well, and we’ve never really adjusted for anything. I even asked the Ped last visit (at 6 months) and she said not to worry about adjusting.

Of course officially they are premature, but it's more up to you how you think of them. Don't be overly concerned if they turn 6 months and are not sitting, just keep in mind they deserve the extra 4 weeks to match their development to a full term. But i'm guessing you won't have any trouble with development :D

We were 35 weeks and 6 days...same thing. We don't adjust, but my DD is a little behind her brother.

we are 36 weeks exactly and we don't adjust...at least not miletsones, i don't know about height/weight.

the only time we adjusted was when jake had a f/u with the nicu and they wanted to see him at 1 year adjusted...no clue why

Mine are 35 weekers and the pedi said they should be all caught up by about 4 months but not to worry about it if they are still behind on some milestones. She also said that by 2 years most preemies are just like other 2yr olds.

Mine are pretty up to date on milestones, but they are still pretty little.

Our peds adjust and we were 36.6 If they were 1 day later they would not adjust.

    SILLY!
