so i don't want to feel like i am neglecting my child or depriving them of development but what do you do with a colicy 2 month old other than feed, burp, change and put to sleep??

Seriously for a two month old that is perfect! They are only awake for such short spurts that there isn't too much else you can do with them--and believe me what you are doing is a lot! Don't worry, holding them, watching over them and caring for their immediate needs is what they need right now. For development purposed you can do tummy time. Many babies can't stand it for too long, but the more you expose them to that the more they take to it.
At about 3 months their awake time increases and then you can put them on the floor and play with them more :)

What she said. There really isn't anything else you can do, and you aren't hindering their development at all.

Hug and kiss them! You can even try reading to them in their bouncy seats or on the floor. Babies love pictures of other baby faces. My boys loved (and still do) the squishy book I bought where I could put in our own pictures. We talked about Nana and Poppop and Aunts and Uncles. The closer up of the face the better.

Kisses, hugs, cuddles & snuggles. That's about all they need at 2 months (other than food & diaper changes!).
