Activities for 1 year olds

My little ones are only 8 months, but I'm so excited for the summer and when they turn one. Please share some ideas with me re: what you do with your twins for fun in the summer, and fun in the winter.

 

My little ones weren't walking yet at one so we couldn't do the park yet, but we'd visit every now and then to go on the swings. I took them swimming a lot last summer and to the beach. Now, they really like to play in the sand. In the winter we went to the aquarium a lot (got season passes while they were still free) and had a lot of playdates. We also started doing fingerpainting at a year in their high chairs. It is a lot of fun!

 

Mine turned one in the winter, so we did reading, playing with toys, watch their favorite TV shows (Yo Gabba Gabba and Sesame Street), mall walking. For this summer we plan on doing sidewalk chalk outside, coloring, riding around in their wagon, swimming in their floaties in our pool, having them help pick the tomato plants and cucumber plants, walks, going to the playground.

 

Last summer we spent a lot of time in the backyard in the little baby pool with the girls. They loved playing with bath toys in there and playing with the hose too. We also have a little tykes play cube with a slide and while they were still too little to get up the slide by themselves, they liked running in and out of the door. They loved (still do) pushing their baby strollers around the backyard too. Oh and their cozy coupe cars were a bit hit as well.

 

Some nice ideas here! I'm also interested in what we could do this summer! I'm excited for the Nice weather to get here consistantly!
