I just went to install the carseats this morning and discovered they are covered with MOLD (as is our brand-spanking new double jogging stroller)! We had been storing them in the garage because we were getting our basement finished (had to move DH from his office to make room for a nursery, so finished the basement to include a huge playroom and new office). It's been so humid, I'm afraid a lot of stuff in there is ruined. I don't even want to see what my boxes of photos look like. :( I remember when I got them I'd figured I'd take the covers off and wash them, but couldn't figure out how to get the covers off then when I'm not full of raging pregnancy hormones and easily p*ssed off. Sigh....have to figure it out before Thursday when we leave for the hospital! Sigh...

:gah: OH NO!!! :( I'm so sorry to hear this. I have no idea on how to remove mold safely, I hope you find out how and can still use these things.

OH NO!!! Can you do some investigating online of getting mold out of the items???
Getting the covers off the car seats can be challenging, but maybe you can enlist someone to help you? (or better yet just do it for you!)
I am SO sorry!!!! I hope you get it all taken care of

Mother-in-Law to the rescue! She came by and picked up the seats and cleaned them - not sure how. She did call Graco, so maybe they gave her some advice on how to do it. Hopefully she and DH can figure out how to put them back together. In the meantime, closed the garage door and set up a dehumidifier in there. Not that it will get rid of the mold that's there already, but maybe it'll help some. Ugh.
