How do I get them back to sleep after a 3am feeding (it is 4:15 and we are wide awake). I know the whole deal about "making it all about business", no playing etc. and I do that but apparently it is still not working. I have tried rocking them also. Help please!!!

make sure when you do feed them at 3am that you dont make a big fuss about it. dont talk to them and try not to turn any lights on.
feed and back to bed. it always worked for us :)

Do you think that they are possibly sleeping too much during the day? And maybe that is why they are becoming such early birds? We were on 3 naps at that point, am, pm, and late pm for 1/2 hour. The first 2 were about 1.5 hours. Also here is our sleep sticky up at the top of the forum, maybe there is something in there that will help. :hug99:

If you put them to bed do they cry? I ask because I have one that I often think is going to give me trouble, she'll be all wide eyed even give me a few smiles (or the picture hanging above the couch), but when I lay her down she just talks a little then goes to sleep.

Mine are younger, but there have been a few occasions I plopped them in the swing & I slept on the couch.

    Best of luck!

This is what was going on here too. My dd would be wide awake and I thought she would stay up....after a few nights I just layed her back in her crib and she needed some time to talk and stuff, and then drifted off. I hope that is the case for your little ones too and they start sleeping after that bottle! Good Luck

    Here is another idea:

We do a dream feed around 10pm...(they go to bed at 6:30) We go in and "wake" them - we just pick them up and put a bottle in their mouths...no talking, cooing, rocking, etc. They sleep through the night after that...People agree or disagree with this, but it works for us. I asked my pediatrician about it and if they can become "addicted" to this feed and she say that it would not make them addicted and she really likes the concept. She did it with her kids!? We always have to wake them up to feed, they don't wake up at 10/11 to be fed. But, when we attempt not to feed them, they always wake up at 2 or 3 am...hungry. And, once they start eating more solids, you stop the feeds.

So, that might work for you. Good luck!
