Acid Reflux Question

They just put Rowan on Prevacid at night and we are keeping the axid for the morning. What dosage were your babies on for the prevacid?

 

We were on 1/2 of the 15mg Prevacid solutab (I believe) at like 6 weeks and we never changed the dosage. It took about 24 hours to start seeing some results with the Prevacid and after about 3 days we had a totally different baby. Good luck.

My boys are both on 7.5(have the 15 sol tab) once a day in the am. They were originally on axid which did nothing for them and is very weight sensitive. We noticed a difference in the about 3 days after they had been on prevacid. Good Luck!

They gave me a liquid, not a solutab??? It states 2.5 mL (5mg) once a day at night? THe reason I ask was the PA, made a big deal about figuring out the dosage and I want to double check she got it right before I give it to him.

We were never on the liquid, but I know I have seen it discussed before.

 

It depends on their weight. It can be prescribed once daily or twice daily. My 10.5 lb. DD is on 3 ml (I think that is 9 mg) twice a day.

 

James is on the 15mg solutab twice a day so 30mg total. Axid made James refulx 10 time worse.

 

15 mg once a day

 

At our max we were on 22.5mg a day. 1 15mg solutab in the am and 1/2 of one at night.

The liquid is not very stable and did not work for us.

Good Luck - reflux is a battle.

At 11 months I am trying to wean my 2nd baby off of his Prevacid............... I think we are doing ok. we shall see!
