    Hi-
My singleton is 5 years old so I thought I would post here for some help. Twins are 2. My DD has been having pee accidents at preschool at least once a week. This has been going on since August when she and her brothers started at a new center. She goes 3 full days/week. There has definitely been changes as this is a new place and going full days is new to her as well. But it's now December and we still seem to have this problem. She holds it as long as possible and then has the accident or has it doing their naptime. She was treated for a UTI last month, but continues having accidents. Her teacher doesn't seem too concerned. He says a lot of other kids have accidents at this age and seems to brush it off. At home, she does tend to hold it too as if she can't take the time to go! She will start Kindergarten next year and I am a little concerned b/c that will be a whole new change. I have talked to her explaining that it's important to go and not hold it, etc.... She expressed she didn't like school initially, but now seems ok and adjusted with the new enviroment and has friends there too. Any thoughts?

If she tends to hold it too long at home too, then my guess is she's just holding it too long and too busy playing and has an accident. I'm not sure how to fix that though. Maybe a sticker chart, every day she comes home from school with no accident she gets a sticker. After XX amount of stickers she gets a prize. If she's sometimes having accidents at home you can do it so she gets a sticker every day she stays completely dry all day. Not sure if that would work or not.

One of my DD's (5y8m) has accidents occasionally. It is normally when she's busy/engaged in something and waits too long. At home, I watch for the "signs" that she seems to have to go and make her stop what she's doing and use the bathroom. I just have to remind her, and I think that carries over pretty well to school too.

Do they give the kids cues like "it's time to go outside, use the potty if you need to"? Maybe you can tell her she has to go before playground time and before nap and if she follows, for a week, you'll do something special?
