I currently have the girls on regular infant formula with DHA/ARA. I got some formula in the mail today from Enfamil. It's the next step formula for toddlers. Should I be switching the girls formula to the toddler stage rather than infant?? I don't get what the difference is. Help!!!!

I have a 15 month old daughter and she stayed on infant formula with DHA/ARA untill she reached 1 years old. Then she went directly to whole milk. I never used the toddler stage.

I have never known anyone to use the next step toddler formula. I didn't with my oldest and am not with my twins either after infant formula we go right to milk. I would talk to your pedi. before switching them.

My ped told me it is basically the same thing as formula. I have never used it, we have gone straight to milk.

IMO (and our pediatrician's), "toddler" formula is just an attempt by the formula companies to make you believe that toddlers need formula. They don't, except in special cases where they have nutritional deficiencies or severe problems with eating. He told us to just switch to regular milk at 1 year.

I agree with Minette, I believe the companies just want to make more money. I went straight from infant formula to whole milk.

I agree w/ pp. Unless you have nutritional issues why would you volunteer to hand over even more $$$ than is already neccessary??? I think the $350-400 they have been getting from me is way more than enough (ha- joke's on them, I switched to Sam's Club brand just over a week ago, my formula bill will be in half- Thank Goodness!!!)
