I know they pulled the cold medicines for infants. I can't remember what the FDA recommendations were...is it no cold medicines under age 6 or was it under age 2? I am asking as mine turn 2 tommorrow and are suffering from a bad cough and cold. I see that Tylenol still advertises infant drops on it's website.

    Thanks

Talk to your pediatrician. Ours gave us a precription for cold medicine.

They still have PediaCare and Triaminic available for toddlers (at least in our area they do) I cut the dosing in half just to be safe. Otherwise, I would ask the pedi for a script. Our pedi gave us a syrup called Dytan CD, it is wonderful. It's a cough supressant, decongestant, and anti-histamine all in one, yet it doesn't knock them goofy.

I started giving my girls teas with honey and I swear it seems as affective as the cough syrups I gave them before.

I use Bouganvilia, but if you don't live in the south you probably won't be able to find it. I think peppermint or eucalyptus tea with a teaspoon of honey in it would be a good alternative for a cough.
