My boys are 3.5 months. They have been diagnosed wit reflux. We are on Nutramigen and I nurse them about 1-2 oz each per day. I do still eat a little bit of off limit foods coffee, milk, veggies. I think they nurse so little it doesn't really matter what I eat. 2-3weeks ago I had a pretty good cold and they got sick. That was when we started all this
diarrhea. It doesn't seem to be going away. Has any one had a doc prescribe any medicine to help. We have only been advised to use Pedialyte.
    Thanks

My twins also have a case of Diarrhea they have had it going on 3 weeks, it is awful we are going through abuot 14-16 diapers a day, and they have awful diaper rash, because they are pooping in the middle of the night in their sleep (they sleep 9-12 hour stretches)
The Dr. said they don't do anyhting for it unless they are dehydrated or losing weight. They did give me a prescription for a diaper rash ointment. The Dr told me it could last a month or so.

I don't have much advice, just sympathy and hopes that it gets better soon.

Maybe you could add a little rice cereal somehow? Maybe in bottles? Ask your Ped. Rice cereal often helps to firm up (constipate) and it can sometimes help with reflux too.

There is a Simalac DF formula for diarrhea. It is only supposed to be used very short term. You might ask your ped about this as an option. Otherwise, I would cut back on regular formula to half and half with pedialyte.

Also, for the terrible rash...try oatmeal baths, and use a tiny amount of lotriman, the anti-fungus cream at diaper changes. The bright red stuff is lots of times yeast after diarrhea.

    HTH!

    Here are the guidelines......

NO MILK PRODUCTS! (Breastmilk is ok I think) Go to a lactose free formula IF POSSIBLE.....

Also, I have given a small amt. of pectin to help bind them up! I would take them to the doc. 1 mo. is TOO LONG IMO!
