Over the last two months or so I have finally lost my last 10 lbs of baby weight plus another 5 lbs. I'm happy to be losing weight, but as I get skinnier I feel like the flab around my midsection is becoming more noticeable. I thought I got off pretty lucky without too much stretched out skin, but now I'm not so sure. It might be skin, but it might just be fat too. Anyone do any good exercises to get rid of their flab?

    Please share :)

Unfortunately, abs are made in the kitchen much more than with exersize. That said, I enjoy pilates, yoga, and medicine ball work.

Sara-That is great that you lost 15 lbs. :a_smil09:

I was hoping you would get some good suggestions for ab work as I need to do some too.

I'm working out with a trainer, and we do regular crunches, flat on your back and laying on your side. We also do one that really works, where you lay on your back, feet out straight and together, with your arms over your head, holding a weighted ball, then you sit up and bring your feet towards you, and place the ball on your feet and stretch out again. Keep repeating these, you will sit up again, take the ball off your feet, stretch out and the ball will be over your head, then sit up again place on feet, etc. These are killer! FYI, I workout alot, lifting weights, and am very tone, I also have lost all of my pregnancy weight, however, the little bit of extra skin is still their. I'm not sure if it is possible to really get it to go away completely, but i'm happy with the results. Good luck!

Great job on losing the weight! You have to remember that any "flab" you see is either fat or skin, NOT untoned muscle. So definitely work on strengthening your abdominals, but it's generally a good diet and cardio work that will get rid of the flab (if it's skin, then there's not much that you can do . . . other than surgery, but it sounds as if it's not really that bad).

Include a combination of different types of crunches ("bicycle crunches" are often listed as the best exercise), reverse crunches (keeping your shoulders on the floor and lifting your legs and hips up towards the ceiling in a very small movement - no swinging your legs around), and cardio cardio cardio . . . sorry there's no easy fix.

Keep up the work, and remember that keeping your abs nice and strong is great for your posture and your health, even if you still have a little "flab".

    Good luck.
