At 35 1/2 weeks Abbygael Katherine Irene Quick was born on Jan 9th @ 2:02am she weighed in at 4#14oz and 18in. Georgia Anne Marion Quick arrived at 2:15am and weighed 3#12oz and 17 1/2in. First contraction started at 12am and by 12:45am I was 5cm dilated. 10 min later I was 8cm and nurses and the dr were rushing to get the OR reading. Baby A was head down and face up. B was still breech. By 1:30am it was to late for an epidural and A was crowning and they were running me down the hall telling me not to push. Baby B was delivered breech with no complications. The labor might have been fast and furious but it was still back labor due to baby A's presentation and I am glad I got the vaginal birth I really wanted and had a Dr who was skilled to deliver breech but some pain meds would have been nice. Both babies are in the NICU but breathing room air and maintaining their body temps. The only struggle they are having is eating but they are getting better at it. They did have feeding tubes inserted last night due to them not taking in all their feeds so what they don't get from me/from bottle they get through the tube. We are not sure how long they will stay in the NICU but I am being released tomorrow. After being in the hospital for almost 6 weeks and wanting out of this place, I now don't want to leave my babies. Thanks to all of you for the prayers and encouraging words during this process and we will see everyone in the 1st year forum :)

Thanks Girls! Looks like i'll be leaving the hospital today, it's going to feel strange being outside again after 5 1/2weeks locked up in here :) but i'll still be living here at the NICU.

Congrats!! I had to laugh while reading this because your birth story is almost EXACTLY like mine.. even the times they were born were within minutes of mine and when contractions started were 30 min difference... I also went to fast for anything and my water broke on way to OR with A crowning and B breech with no pain meds either!! Even the outfits your girls are wearing is the same my DD has!! Mine were also born at 35 and 3... How funny!! Glad they are doing good and hope they can come home very soon!!

Congrats on your two beautiful babies! How wonderful to have them with you after a long stint on bedrest. Praying they are able to eat well soon and join you at home. I know how hard it is to leave your babies behind in the NICU. My first son was in the NICU for a week, and I was SO thankful it wasn't any longer because it killed me to go home without him.

Sounds like they are doing wonderfully! Go home and get some rest and I pray the girls get strong enough to feed on their own and do not have to stay too much longer!

Congratulations!! They look adorable. I spent three weeks on hospital bedrest, so I can empathize a bit with you, kudos to you for doing 5 1/2 weeks and nice work on keeping those two beautiful girls baking.
