the girls go down for a nap at 2:30. they FINALLY fall asleep, and at that exact moment the guy next door starts cutting his grass!!!!! okay, i KNOW it's not his fault; he has every right to cut his grass anytime he wants to, i totally understand that. but i still want to go out and scream at him!!! cuz my girls woke right up. so they slept a total of ... 5 minutes. and now they're done. this is going to be a GREAT evening. <_<

that angers me more than anything... and then it's all the dog's fault... stupid dog :p

and then to know what kind of evening is ahead of you... i feel your pain... plus it would've been nice to have a little bit of "mommy-time" while they slept... you were robbed!
hopefully they will go down a little early tonight

My sympathies -- I hate it when that happens! I often think how frustrating it must be to be a SAHM and have no control over things like that. In our neighborhood, there is always someone doing construction or cutting their grass or a fire truck going by or someone knocking on the door. At least at daycare, they're set far back from the road and they know better than to cut the grass during naptime!

Anyway, hugs to you. You can put them to bed really early tonight.

Bummer!!! I made my kids sleep through all that. I didn't go get them and they eventually fell asleep! They slept through each other CIO'ing, so that probably has something to do with it!

I hope tonight isn't as bad as you think!

Dannielle, do you use a white noise machine? Ours drown those noises out thankfully .

I HATE when that happens. I am so paranoid about it because our dog used to wake them up all the time when someone drove or walked by. Now, I have a note that I put on the doorbell that says "DO NOT ring doorbell". I also put my dog in our master suite (downstairs) when I take the kids up for their nap.

It never fails though, right when they are getting into their nap, the kids from next door get home from school (what are they doing home at 2:00 anyway) and start playing basketball. All I hear is "thump , thump" on the basketball hoop backboard and it makes me nuts!

Ugh, how irritating. You should purchase one that runs constantly. That's what we have and it works wonders .
