DH took us all to Hilton Head with him because he had a business convention there. The evening that we arrived, DH had to go have dinner and drinks. As soon as he left, Brendan started screaming and nothing that I did would comfort him. I don't know if he was car sick or picked up a little bug, but he really let me (and the rest of Hilton Head) know how he was feeling. Anyway, I was walking Brendan in the stroller in the room trying to get him to stop screaming when Jillian woke up from her nap and decided to work in tandem with him in the yelling department. Then there was a knock on the door. It was the night manager who wanted to come in to see if anything was wrong (at this point, I thought, "everything is wrong" :( ). I explained to her that I could not physically get to the door unless she wanted my babies to scream again. She said she did not have a key.She returned a minute later with security who let her in our suite. There I sat on the couch in my pajamas with Jillian in my left arm while simultaneously trying to hold the bottle in her mouth and Brendan in front of me in the stroller feeding him his bottle with my right hand. It seems that a lady in one of the rooms near ours was CERTAIN that I had abandoned my baby in the room and she was just making sure that this was not a child welfare case. I just looked at the lady and laughed. Realizing she had made a terrible mistake, she asked if she could help. I said she could feed Jillian because I thought Brendan was sick. As if on cue, as soon as the word "sick" came out of my mouth, Brendan projectile vomited all over himself and the stroller. The look on the night manager's face was one of sheer terror, disbelief and pity. She ended up staying to help me for about 45 minutes so I could get Brendan changed and to sleep while she held Jillian, who continued to wail. (At one point she asked me if Jillian had a pacifier and I snapped, "I AM HER PACIFIER!" :umm: ) When the night manager handed Jilli off to me and was about to leave, she told me to call the front desk when they were both asleep and she would send up a glass of wine for me. There wasn't enough wine in all of South Carolina that could have helped me that night. Don't most people have complaints called in about their teenagers' noise levels in hotels?...Ah, our relaxing beach vacation!

Well, it's really nice that they were willing to help. Some people aren't nearly as nice.
I'm sorry your vacation wasn't so relaxing... :hug99:

Oh my goodness. You poor thing. I would have been so embarrassed. I hate being out in a store with one of the babies screaming so I can't imagine being in a hotel with both of them going. I guess we will be trying it out in a few weeks when we go home to visit and stay in a hotel. Not looking forward to that.

Oh my -- I can't even imagine. Poor you! Glad the manager wasn't rude to you, though.

And I agree, wine seems a little too tame for that situation, LOL. :D

Well your story just solidified the decision for us to hold off vacations this summer. :) We will wait until they are a little older to begin the traveling nightmare.
