Yesterday, I began having some brown spotting around 4 pm. Called my Dr., who advised rest and to head to the hospital if it increased, changed, etc. At 5 I had a huge glob of brown mucous. It freaked me out, even though I know brown is usually ok, so off we went.

Short story - everything is fine, including my cervix. Still light brown spotting, but I've been sent home to watch and wait.

Long story - They couldn't find B's heartbeat for the longest time, so for a good 30 minutes, I was convinced we'd lost him. :( Even with the US machine, they couldn't get a good view of his heart, and he wasn't moving. Finally, they got a good angle, and then he moved of course. We saw lots of movement after that, but I was terrified.

I have never been so scared in my life! What an awful, awful feeling. :(

Thanks everyone. It was a pretty awful scare. I had very troubled dreams from it as well. Ugh, I can't wait for the next couple of months to be over and have these babies here safely.

Did they have you eat something sweet or drink juice? I've always been able to get my babies moving a lot by having something sweet. That is very scary. Have a glass of juice, lie down and do your kick counts once or more a day!!

Oh how scary...glad all is well! Did they do a FFN (fetal fibronectin test) just to make sure that wasn't part of your mucus plug?

HUGS HUGS HUGS HUGS I TOTALLY know that fear of not seeing the heart clearly and having your stomach drop through the floor. At my 37wk ultrasound to check babe's position we couldn't not see Zachary's heart nor see him move - and I'd not FELT him move since the night before. The OB was moving the wand around and around and I was getting worried as I could see the screen - then she asked 'Have you felt him moving?" and I just stared at her - then asked "his heart isn't beating??????" she didn't answer - then all of a sudden he moved and we got a view of his beautiful heart and I felt him. That 15minutes was the longest of my lifetime.
