She has developed a rash all over her face, into her hair and it is starting down her neck. I haven't changed anything we wash her clothes in so that shouldn't be it... maybe she is getting to hot at night where we swaddle her? I have a few pictures of the rash but they are hard to see... I'll post them.

The spots are red and blotchy looking...

Did she have a fever at all the past few days??? Could be Roseola. My first thought was eczema but it does not look like that on the photo.

I can't really tell from the picture but one of my DD's developed a rash on her face and neck when she was about 6 weeks old. The doctor said it was baby acne and said to just wash with water (no soap) and it will go away on its own. It did after about 2 weeks.

Does she seem uncomfortable to try to rub at her face? If thats the case, maybe you should call the doctor and ask him/her what you should do.

BTW, your kiddos are adorable! -Leighann

Do you breastfeed or formula? I used formula and my guys became allergic to the formula and we had to switch to soy. Cleared right up!!

She hasn't had a fever that I have noticed... I called the DR's office and made her an appt for in the morning... I put some eczema cream on it, but that looks like it made it worse.

How long did it take before they developed the rash, when you all noticed they were allergic to the formula...

I thought about that being what it could be as well.

Jamie, Josh had a rash similar to that when he was about 6 weeks old. Ped said it was seborrhea, same thing that causes cradle cap. It was all down his neck, around his hairline, and eventually all over his face. I washed him with Head and Shoulders(being careful of his eyes) and applied Caldescene powder(pink bottle/baby section/Walgreens) and it went right away.

I remember my guys had absolutely perfect skin until about 6 weeks and then they started breaking out. They got little rashes on their faces and down the backs of their necks. The doctor said it was all the extra hormones working their way out. I used Aquaphore and that helped tremendously.

Ellie had the same thing, and it got WAY worse before it got better!! Like Becky, our Dr said it was seborrhea, but when we eventually switched to soy was when it finally completely cleared up. Ours showed up around 6-8 weeks too. I've read since that a rash like this is a common sign of a milk protein intolerance or allergy. Any other symptoms - diarrhea, spitting up, excessive gas?

    Good Luck!

My daughter had this and it turned out to be a dairy sensitivity. I cut dairy from my diet (because we're BF) and it cleared up in a few days. I've been dairy free for 10 days...it was hard at first but actually, I think I feel better too without it. Not saying that's for sure what this is for you- it could be a lot of things...that's just what it was for us.

My pediatrician said they can get heat rashes easily from over swaddling too.
