I've noticed that with my set of twins, my older twin is more dominant that my younger twin. I was just curious if this is common with others?

I voted no. My oldest (by 1 minute) is a much mellower, contented baby and my youngest is a firecracker. Jack will roll in and steal Nate's toys, climbs all over him, and Nate mostly lets him.

My younger twin (also by 1 minute) is more dominant by far. When they were babies it was a little more ambiguous, but she has gotten more and more so as they've gotten older. The older one holds her own, but mostly by being stubborn and doing her own thing, not by trying to influence her sister's behavior.

My Ds is the older one, and seems to be showing some signs of being more dominant. He has already started stealing her toys, and will actually "hoard" toys so that he can have them all.

My oldest (by 19 mins) is more active and does steal the other's toys/binky/etc... She's just busier. My youngest is more sensitive and cuddly.
I've wondered this too though... my youngest was also in the NICU for a short time (a day) and I wondered if that had any effect.

Absolutely!! She has been kicking butt and taking names since they were wombmates!! She is still like that to this day...very aggressive and her sister is very passive.

My DD has been large and in charge since birth but DS is starting to speak up more!

My older one is the less aggressive when it comes to toys and food. When it comes to mommy's attention, he always wins. My boys are a lot like my sister and I (even though we are 4 yrs apart). She was always the more aggressive one yet I am the older one.

both of my guys are strong willed and exuberant. they express it differently but so far neither one dominates the other. i think it may skew towards the "younger" one as they age, but that's just my gut and i could be wrong.

i say "younger" in quotes because they were born only a minute apart. so it almost doesn't count!

Mine are the same, there isn't one dominant one.

My youngest is currently the bosier, more dominent, one. The oldest is more the daredevile. But they change up those personalities every once in a while.

In both sets the younger twins are the dominant personalities. The "older" ones are more laid back and less demanding.

Mine are 8 hours apart! yes you read that right! And dd, born first is definitely more dominant.

My two seem to take turns. Sometimes Lila is way more bossy & dominant, but then other days it will be Luke who is "in charge." It always seems that one is more dominant but it isn't always the same one.

I voted the same because just when I think that one has the upper hand so to speak, the other comes back with a vengeance.

Alice is very dominant over Royce. She's still angry at how much he kicked her in the womb.

Yes, my older, by a minute, is more dominate. He is a spaz too! He has tried stealing his brothers bottle after he is done nursing, and tries to steal toys when they are hanging out on the floor. It has been fun watching their personality change and comeabout as they get older! My younger twin is quiet and very observant. I think he is going to be the protector of his brother when they get older.

Nope, not at all. My younger twin (1 minute) is THE boss .. the older one just goes along with him .. it doesn't really cause any problems, yet anyway.

Mine go back and forth or are each dominant in their own areas. Nady is a bossy screamer and Aidan is mellow but will take things from Nadia and crawls all over her. Nady will take food off Aidan's tray even if she has her own and lays with her feet propped up on his back too.

We like to say that Nady is the brains and Aidan is the brawn. They compliment each other but neither will back down from the other either.

My younger twin (Allison by 1 minute) is definitely the more dominate twin now. She is more bossy and is more confident and is just more outgoing. She will go to daycare by herself, go to Sunday School by herself, and just will do practically anything by herself. Sarah would rather be with me and DH than go anywhere by herself. She is just much more passive in many ways than Allison. However, Sarah is my more creative one and has always done everything first (walked, talked, etc). It's really interesting how their personalities have developed just in the last year.
