Hi, I'm Shannon, I usually hang in the first years, I have 2 month old identical twin boys.... I was thinking today about something I won;t be worrying about for a few years, but my curiousity was peaked....

How do you mothers (of same-sex twins) seperate your kids clothes?? I mean, I'm thinking by the time they are two or three, they will want their own outfits, but do you mark them or something?? Just to keep it easier to find each childs favortie??

Someone asked me this questiontoday and I really didn't know how to respond....maybe its silly...just one of those thoughts in my head....

    TIA
    Shannon

My boys are 3 and I don't separate their clothes. I group them together by matching/coordinating shirts or pants and hang them in the closet together.

We just started to seperate some of their clothers. Mostly for me to make it easier. they are in two different sizes in pants. shirts just get hung up in the closet. Mostly they do not care, but when they do they know whose is whose and will let us know before it even gets close that they are not happy and will NOT wear their brothers clothes. We have a few duplicates (mostly because I got a good deal or because it is easier to see bright orange in a crowd) but most of the clothes get shared. since they are in daycare and most pieces get stained, it is easier/cheaper to share. we seem to get more and more specific with all we buy as they get older (clothes and toys)

My boys don't care about sharing clothes. At this age, even underwear is in a drawer all together and they just choose the pair they want. They do have a few things that belong to them individually, and they respect those things. Nate loves green and Drew loves blue, so if I find shirts or something in those colors I will give them each a specific shirt. Drew will not usually want to wear the green shirt, and Nate doesn't want the blue shirt, so it all works out fine. Something else fun at this age is that they have figured out if they wear matching clothes people have a hard time telling them apart! The other morning Drew said, "Mom, we want to wear matching so we can trick people!" I've never told them this, so it struck me as so cute that they figured this out on their own! I suppose that's one advantage to having an identical twin! :D
