I found out this past Friday that I am carrying my second set of twins. I am really overwhelmed, thrilled, depressed, at this news. I feel like it will be amazing. I also question if I can handle it, financially, emotionally etc. Just wondering if others who have had multiple multiples felt similarly and any advice involved. Also, I am 11 weeks by ultrasound, but historically my babies have always measured small, so I may be even further, I just hadn't had a period for a long while so we have to go by U/S estimation. I thought I remembered something from my previous twin pregnancy that there is something different about when you are in a "safer" point of the pregnancy insofar as loss. Is it around 14 weeks vs. the 12 for a singleton? Maybe I am imagining that...3.5 years after the birth of my twins I have forgotten a fair bit...

Wow, congrats. Only 1 set of twins here so no BTDT advice. Hoping you have a smooth pregnancy and your older kids will want to be awesome helpers!!

Congrats! As far as early loss goes, I thought that 12/13 weeks was the date regardless of number of babies...basically getting out of the 1st trimester gets past the majority of miscarriages. Of course, I never stopped worrying until 24 weeks with any of mine, because that's the age of viability. Hopefully you get a few multiple multiples mamas on here to talk to...maybe check out in the large family forum? I know there are a few but I don't know what forums they frequent. I am sure that you will do great and will find that your older kiddos will be a big help. I was actually hoping for twins the second time around but had a singleton instead. I think us mamas of twins only get what we can handle, and what other people can't handle...so that makes you super mama!!!

How great! I may be here with you. 7 weeks pregnant. Still a little vague on whether it's twins. (Two sacs but only saw one heartbeat on early u/s). I'll be sooooo happy to have company in the insanity! :)

Wow well congrats on your pregnancy and hope for similar company! It is a strange world to be in the land of multiple multiples! I once remember thinking (when preg with my first set of twins) that it would be cool. I guess becareful what you wish for! The visit was such a blur. I have the ultrasound and I know he said it was all good but now I am thinking I don't remember him confirming heartbeats etc. Next appointment is 1/24. I guess I will wait and get more answers then. At 11 weeks I am essentially close to being out of the woods. I know there are no gauruntees in life, but it is nice feeling when risks decline. Thanks for all the responses. Glad to be back on this forum again!

Congrats on your second set! I don't have any experience with a second pregnancy as my twins were my first and only ( DH had a vasectomy after the twins were born). I'm sure all your emotions are completely normal! I know I worried about my twins till 24 weeks and really still worried until they were born but that was bc of health issues I had, id always been told I wouldn't be able to carry a child much less to term ... Proved those docs wrong! The twins were born at 37 weeks and perfect. As I'm sure you know from before we're always here for support! Congrats again and :welcome: back!
