In the over all scheme of things I know that my lack of patience and irritation at my kids today is a small thing but f&^%%&&&%^$^k.... I had to leave them in their play area and close the office door and recollect. It sort of worked. I hurt my back a few days ago and haven't been able to exercise or go out much and between having a crankster DD and working part-time, I am a bonified GROUCH. Just needed to vent and recollect AGAIN (for the thousandth time today), so I sent DH outside with them and am holed up in the office AGAIN.

In case you are a mamma that is feeling a bit down and irritable like me, HUGS to you and lets hope tomorrow is a better day.

 to you! I still have plenty of those days and I tell the kids, Mommy needs a time out right now. Good for you for taking time to yourself to recollect!

I'm sorry and I can relate. My boys havent been in the best mood the last couple of days and neither have I. Going to work has felt like a break. Hang in there.

I could have written this! My mantra this week has been "just breathe" because my girls have been whiny and cranky ALL week. I may have those words tattooed on me somewhere.

"Just breathe" is my mantra of the moment! I'd be careful though, if we all started tatooing our current mantra's we'd be covered ..lol

Hang in there ladies, one hour at a time :)

Hugs!! I totally feel your pain! And that is precisely why I have 2 ciggys every night to calm my nerves after a bad day!

I look forward to a steaming hot bath (ok not so steamy while pregnant) every night after they go to bed. It relaxes me and puts me ahead for tomorrow.

My pedi told me when my son was 6-9mos...put him in a safe place and walk away. Not far away of course but just to go take a breath and recollect. We were CIO with him at the time. So I think you're doing a good thing. Put them in the play area where they're safe and recollect.

Totally! Sometimes I disappear into the bathroom with my iPhone and check Facebook/twitter/email until I feel like I can face them again!

Yes, I know what you're talking about! As I mentioned to DH this morning, I really hope they're in some kind of growth spurt and things will run a bit smoother within a few days. I do lots of short timeouts as well.

Oh girl! this is why we still have swings and an excersaucer at 14 months! I try not to put them in their cribs as a "time out" because i want beds to be happy places.
