A little early for me...

I have ID girls. I'm thinking when the time comes to get a double bed and have them sleep in the same one. Although, I'm seeing some downsides... if one gets sick or wets the bed, I have to wake the other one up to change the sheets and waking the other up moving around too much. Anyone sleep their little ones in the same bed? Who knows, by that time, I may have decided against it...

My girls are still in their crib but I do plan on moving them to a bed soon (before they climb out of the crib!), they will share a bed as they share a crib now.

I dont know, I just dont think its fair to ask them to share a bed. I mean, they are two different people who I think deserve a bit of personal space and need to learn how to have some independence. Plus, they will probably have different sleep needs. I just wouldnt want to wake one to change the sheets due to urine, barf, or just one plain ol' decides its time to get up at 3am.

    Just my 2 cents.

I couldn't do one bed for two people. I have ID girls and they're really close, but I think asking them to share a bed is too much. They need their space (in my opinion). If they decide to climb in with each other some nights, that's fine by me. But I want it to be their choice, not me forcing them to share.

From the other side, all three of my girls share a bed (the small ones because they both still want to sleep with me, the older one because she wants to). They sleep better when all three snuggle together, and need me less in the night, so I support it wholeheartedly :) Go with your gut instinct on whether to get one bed or two, you know your girls best.

Mine slept together until they were 2. From 1-2 they were in a double bed.

    Worked great for us.

my kids shared a bed for a while but one was each head of the bed/feel facing each other. THat worked out well until they got a bit bigger then they moved into their own beds. When potty training I wouldn't want them in the same bed for the reasons you mentioned. My 2 always start in their own beds and sometimes get in each other beds in the middle of the night but mostly stay in their own bed.

If they weren't ID twins (or even twins) would you put them in the same bed? If the answer is no, then why should they have to share a bed, simply because they are twins? Like the PPer said, they are two different people. One idea would be to get 2 twins and put them together, that way you have more options for if they want to move apart. I know mine would never be able to share--even sharing in a hotel is torture for all of us!

My girls share a bed. It was their choice. We have a twin day bed that they slept in when they didn't want to sleep in their toddler beds any more. I would pull out the second bed, open it up (or leave it open and down) and I would come in and find them on one bed. So we asked them what they wanted, and they picked a new full size bed for their room.
