    Hi Twin Moms,

I just wanted to pass along a book that a friend gave me when I delivered my twins. I am slightly experienced since I have an older daughter (well, she's only 15.5 months) but I still found this book to be very helpful when dealing with twin situations. After I started reading it, I actually made time to read the entire book within the first two weeks after their arrival!

I think those of you with a twin pregancy as your first would really like this book.

"Ready or not, here we come! The real expert's cannot-live-without guide to the first year with twins"
    Author - Elizabeth Lyons

She also wrote another book about twin toddlers called "Ready or not, here we go!"

It is more light-hearted read, but has good advice... the author is a twin mom so you know she's been there. For instance, she talks about how to handle the nights in the beginning - shifts, one baby assigned to mom and the other to dad, or a nighttime nurse.

I never bought those "what to expect when expecting" books, they were like encyclopedias to me!

    Hope it is helpful!!!

I have both of these books and loved them. Lots of humor mixed in with good advice. She tells it from her perspective as well as relates stories of her other multiples Moms friends - one with trips.

I have both. I like the baby one better than the toddler one. Especially if you already have a toddler (even though he/she is not a twin), it's not that funny and eye opening as the first book.

Got the first one. It's cute. It's a book on what to expect after they're born, I think, which is good ;) .

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm sure all the expectant Moms appreciate it. Sounds like a good book, wish I had know about it 21 months ago.

I just ordered it and one other - I'll have to check again and see what the name was. I love laying in bed and reading before falling asleep. I figure I might as well be learning about the twins on the way!!

Parenting magazine published a section of the book a while back. It contains some very bad advice about breastfeeding so if you're planning to breastfeed and not supplement with formula, completely disregard that section of the book. Otherwise, I'm sure it's an entertaining read.

my book is expected to arrive Nov 6th, thanks for the recommendation... i'm not so into medical books this go around... i figure i will look up what i need to know when i need to know it instead of worring about what could, maybe happen like i did with my son... for me, right now... ignorance is bliss
