Ok - So my two just turned 2 1/2 and I am not planning on moving them to twin beds (no pun intended there ;) ) until they are past age 3.

Their cribs are head to foot, or head to head - whatever - Archer can climb over into Phoebe's crib. He doesn't do it that often, but just did it again 10 minutes ago. I am scared to move their cribs totally away from each other in the fear that he will climb out and hurt himself. Although he does seem to know it's safe to climb over into her bed, and not off the sides. I do have a video monitor and can keep an eye on them. With 6 months or so more to go in cribs should I invest in crib tents. Can I get away with buying it for Archer's crib and not Phoebe's? Any advice or insight on this would be appreciated.

And then a silly question - in my monitoring of Archer's crib leaping activities I have been listening to their bed time chatter for the last hour. Yup, lights out at 7:00 and it is 8:10 right now and they are chatting away. <_< I heard Archer say to Phoebe, "No my mommy, not yours!" This is a frequent argument between the two of them, despite my calm reassurances that I am both of their mommies with a simple explanation of twins "You are both my babies, you were both in Mommy's belly at the same time" etc; Anyone else experiencing this somewhat amusing argument?

I'd DEFINITELY buy it for the baby that is getting out/tring to get out.

I am currently having this problem with my 18m olds . I have the cribs set up the same way. I bought the crib tent and it does not fit our crib. Right now I am just putting thme to be in the same cribs and crossing my fingers that they dont attempt to come put over the front. Im very worried that they are going to first fall out of their crib and hurt themsleves but if they get out and dont hurt them sleves Im afraid they are going to get hurt on something in the house should they wonder when we are sleeping....

Good Luck its not a situation I want to be in right now.

What type crib do you have?

Nikki - I have the simple Jenny Lind style crib. Looks like this:

They are great cribs and not expensive. Just $99 at Target!! Can you maybe sell the 2 cribs you have and buy these and crib tents? Your guys are still quite young and can potentially be in cribs for another year and a half to 2 years more. Just a thought!

And I think I am going to go buy one crib tent tomorrow, hopefully Phoebe won't be upset that she doesn't have one!

I had those cribs and the tent fits. I bought two tents even though I only needed one but I know other families who have purchased just one and the children have been fine. I would definitely go for it, if you don't need it long then you will probably be able to sell it for a great price on ebay or wherever after, be sure to save the packaging.

Sorry, never had the mommy issue. It sounds kind of cute although I can see how it could be a little challenging.

OK...so I am thinking you must be hiding somewhere in my house as we are having the same issue right now. I put them to bed at 7 and they stay up goofing off for about an hour? A little while ago they were sitting in the same crib reading a book together.

With regards to the climing, one of mine started climing out at about 18 months. I was able to keep him contained by using the toddler size Halo sleep sacks until about 2 weeks ago when he was able to get into his brother's crib with the sleep sack on.

I originally planned on putting them in toddler beds at two, but I think they are still too young. So I bought "the original Crib Tent" from Wal-mart.com. I have not set it up yet but will probably do it this weekend. My concerns are 1) he will hate it and bedtime will be a struggle. 2) he will love it and his brother will want one too. I guess its just wait and see. But for $50 a piece I didn't want to buy 2 if I didn't need 2.

A - I did the Halo sleep sack thing too! Hah! I am hiding in your house :) Archer won't wear it anymore though and knows how to get out of it. Very cute that yours were reading a book together. That's another thing - mine sleep with about 10 books in their bed. Sometimes on top of them.

I didn't think of Walmart! I kind of try to avoid that place - but I think they are cheaper there than Babies R Us. Guess we are doing a Wal Mart run this morning.

Dianne - Good idea! I will save the packaging.

I'll let you all know how tonight goes!

Well I bought one from Babies R Us for bleeping $70. ugh. Wal Mart does not have them in their stores only available online. WHY? argh. They are $42 at Wal Mart. I wanted the one for Archer tonight - and he is in it right now for nap having a party. Phoebe is a little upset and wants one too, so I will order hers from Wal Mart.

So yes - they think the tent is one big reason to have a party. Not sure nap time is going to work today. ahhh!

Funny! I just got one crib tent so far, ordered it from Walmart.com. So far Grace has showed no jealousy over Lily having one and her not, but she's a little young for that. I was more fearful that Lily would be "afraid" of it or not like being trapped in. But she's such a climber, she needed it early on!

I have the Jenny Lind style cribs too, and the tent fits great on it.

We bought ours at about that age after I put it off. I'd get one for Archer now and wait on Phoebe's unless there is a twins discount you want to take advantage of. The crib tent will keep him safe and help you keep your sanity. :)
